Just bananas?

I am not really a fan of fruit, except (as the title suggests) bananas.
I do like strawberries but they are so expensive I can't really afford them often

Anyway I have been limiting myself to 1 banana a day, but will it make a massive difference if I have more each day?

I am trying to do a week of EE and do love veg so that is good and makes life easier but I end up snacking on things like Alpens/snackajacks/wotsits etc I am wondering if this is why I have only had slow losses this last two weeks?

Im a banana lover too lol but I do like all the other fruit too. I often eat two in a day and it never bothered me when I calorie counted but haven't been SW long enough to gauge it.

One chopped with breakfast and one as my mid afternoon snack. I imagine a natural healthy food like nananananananaaaaas has to be better for me than the chemical crap storm that is a bag of wotsits lol (the hot and spicy ones are like my personal variety of HEROIN!!! I cant stop myself when I have them in the house, PMSL)

Some people can't eat too many banana's, but I wouldn't think two would harm you, its got to be better then snacking on some other foods.

If you like strawberries have you tried getting frozen ones, they're not great for snacking on, but lovely if your putting them in something like rice pudding or porridge and you can get them cheaper then fresh ones

I didn't used to like fruit but can eat most except Pineapple, and have gone off apples.

Try some frozen berries Tesco £1.39 a bag, defrosted with vanilla yogurt over the top it's seriously good stuff. And oddly not too fruity!

If you like veggies snack on superfree soup in a mug, or superfree chips made with carrots/celeriac/swede.

Also, tesco do "everyday value" strawberries for 95p per punnet. I usually buy one every other day as it does me two lots of breakfasts :)

one lady in our area who is now a consultant has lost over 13 stone and she eats up to 10 bananas a day! bananas are a free food so there's no need to restrict them.

Why not buy some strawberry plants form a garden centre and grow your own for the summer? You can grow them in hanging baskets xx

Thank you for all the replies.
I will def keep my eyes out for cheap strawberries, and have considered getting some plants too.

I will allow myself an extra banana then if I feel the need :)

That's interesting and am glad to read this. I'm doing SW online and have friends who go to classes. They've debated often about the number of bananas you can/should eat in a day. The general opinion was that they should be restricted, thought I've always felt that it's better to eat a banana than a Choc bar or crisps.

I always buy tesco value or smart price strawberries, they're nice enough and cheaper.

What about other sweet fruits, like plums? They're always in asda for £1 a punnet and they're lovely to just pick up and nibble on.

If bananas are not affecting your weight loss then I would suggest do not restrict them. If you increase your banana intake and notice a difference then you probably need to cut down.

E.g my friend and I do SW together, she eats 4 bananas a day and has always had consistent losses. The couple of times I've eaten more bananas it has dropped my weight losses down to 0.5lb so I usually only have 1 a day now.

It'll be different for everyone so I reckon trial and error is the best way.

OP definitely look into some Strawberry plants, so much tastier and satisfying having home grown stuff.

I have been eating up to 3 bananas a day without even thinking about it affecting weightloss ! It hasnt anyway because I've lost over a stone in 6 weeks . So guess its just what's right 4 u x

Really colic :S that's not too good ! I don't think I cud stop eating them though lol , I love eating about 3 a day xx
