... that this site is AMAZING. I don't know what finally made me take the plunge, but I decided last week to bite the bullet and DO THIS. I am finally going to try and lose weight! :happy036: I joined Slimming World Online last week and my first weigh in will be Tuesday. Really excited, I have stuck to the plan all week and it's actually been a lot easier than I thought. It doesn't feel like I'm on a diet at all, I'm just now keeping an eye on the things I eat - not mixing meats and carbs in one day. I'm slightly dubious that stuffing my face with potatoes and pasta will result in a weight loss as I feel so full, but it's all good food, I'm well within syn limits so I'm hoping for the best come Tues! I'm also trying to chop and change with red and green to bring some variety. What I wanted to say was that I am a very private person as I've always been self conscious due to my weight and really don't want to get weighed in front of someone. Hence I signed up to the online programme and bought some scales, and I'm away! However, I find the SW website to be more information than inspiration and so I have been religiously lurking on MiniMins for the past week. Looking up syn values, seeing everyone's incredible stories and finding recipes. This site, and in particular this section, has been great. Seeing how other people who are in a similar situation to me are doing so well and speaking freely about their sizes is inspirational. Even writing this post and acknowledging my weight is a huge deal for me, as I have been living in denial all of my life! This site makes me realise I'm not alone, and also shows me that losing weight and having a normal life is possible for people who weigh/ed as much as I do. I'm not sure I will be keeping a diary etc on here or posting my updates every week but I wanted to let you know how helpful I find this site and thank you!
