Kindle question

For Christmas I received an amazon kindle gift card. I've applied it to my amazon account but how do I download a book any pay with my gift card?

I've downloaded a few books and it's still coming directly from my bank.

Do I need to use the laptop instead?

It must be in the account settings where you choose how to pay. It must be set to come from your bank account rather than the gift card. Might be worth using your PC to check the account payment settings as once you've done that, it should save them
