Lola's slimming and pregnancy diary

Afternoon :D
It's official, everybody knows im pregnant! went for a meal with my friends yesterday and told them, then told everyone else in the family. My poor nana was in tears, she couldn't believe it :)
Already been offered things like second hand clothes ect. Its a lovely gesture but I turned them down, is that bad of me? i felt really guilty doing so but i want to buy all new clothes for baby, I have no problem with 2nd hand things so hoping i don't sound like a snob! i'd rather they went to charity anyway to someone who is struggling for money.
Also was offered my friends baby's car seat, we're getting rid of the car anyway (i think!!) but I can't believe she's offered me it, Ive read some horror stories about buying second hand car seats as parts can come off and/or get weaker over time. Again, hope I dont sound like a snob but safety is first right? not taking the risk.

I've made a list of prams like Waffle did, i'll try and get a pic up at some point :)

Morning sickness has been ay ok, I feel more tired than anything now tbh.. I'm always napping.
Back to work tomorrow, loved having that week off but I like being busy so i'm happy to be going back :)

another 1lb on at weigh in.

Hope you are all having a lovely Sunday :D xxx

Hey hunni!

Aww the excitement can begin now you have started telling people! Have you told work yet? I had to tell my boss really early because they thought it was an ectopic pregnancy so I had to have some time off for scans etc! But waited till 12 weeks to tell my colleagues it was so hard keeping the secret lol!!

Your not a snob at all, I didn't have anything second hand either, part of the fun is buying all the cute clothes and the car seat and pram etc that you really want! And there are so many rules don't use mattresses or car seats etc! Better to be safe than sorry!

Yehy what prams are you liking? Most of them have videos on YouTube so you can see if they look easy to fold and what not :)

I miss napping lol! Don't worry about the weight, and ignore any charts and stuff about how much weight you should gain at each stage, everyone I know that's had a baby has gained around 3 stone, it comes on quite quick during the middle of the pregnancy it comes of pretty quickly too though so try not to worry too much honestly! Are you planning to breast feed? I did for 3 months and in that 3 months I lost 2 stone of the pregnancy weight xx

I don't think it's snobby at all, your baby your choice at the end of the day. Can't believe the car seat thing though, I'm guessing she's never heard of the hazards. Just a thought, if you ever feel like you're being pressured into accepting something second hand, could you not just take it and then take it down to the charity shop yourself? that way there's no feeling guilty or awkwardness! xx

Im happy im not alone with the 2nd hand situation, thought i was being snobby!!

Im telling work this week, exciting :)

Ive fallen in love with the babystyle oyster2, saw it on the mothercare website, it's quite compact too apparently which is a bonus as we'll be using public transport more often. This is it... la6852_1.jpg

Also love this one, it's the Graco Evo XT pushchair.... la2536_1.jpg

It's so hard, I have loads of others! My favourites on my laptop is insane lol!! What pram do you have? are there any you'd say to avoid? Xxx

As for breastfeeding, it's still something i'm unsure about atm tbh - I'm going to give it a go I think, if it's not for me then I'll stop. There's just so much pressure around these days to do it isn't there?

Oooh I loved the oyster too only reason we didn't get it is that is was a toss up between that and what we have - mamas & papas sola - is that we found the sola on a really cheap offer and my hubby is a tight arse lol!!
My friend has the Graco evo and she loves it, another one that was on our list lol honestly can't remember why we ruled it out in the end that one :/
Personally I wouldn't get one with a car seat that goes on top of the pushchair bit, we also saw a few in person and decided to get one with a proper solid based carrycot part rather than the ones that you just push to fold out coz they were a bit flimsy and didn't have much support, not sure I would be bothered next time though coz we used the carrycot for 2 months of that, Maisie hated laying down in it and not being able to see out, but dunno if that's just coz she's a nosey bum like her mummy!

There is so much pressure, I did 3 months, I'm not gonna lie it was really hard, I was like you I'll see how it goes but once I started I felt so bad to stop, it's so much easier now we're on bottles but obv breast is best so they say, I still feel bad for stopping but it was a relief too it's such a bloody big decision along with so many other pregnancy decisions and God I hate decisions lol!!

GreT idea from slimming girl but be careful, OH brother gave us a high chair and we took it to the tip coz the seat was plastic and it was ripped I didn't want to use a broken one, and then now it's weaning time they have asked us about it and told other flipping family members, think they will of seeing pics of her in her new one on Facebook now too eek awkward!! Feel bad but why would we want a broken one?!

Your food for today sounds nice, but random too lol!! Do you have any cravings yet?

Sorry for the really long message, I'm wafflewaffle for a reason lol xx

Haha no worries hun honestly, I appreciate all the help i can get!
Thanks for the help with prams, im spoilt for choice but def leaning towards the graco one as ive fallen in love with it, its been on my mind all day... is this what my life has become now??! lol, i went into a world of my own at work today, thinking about labour !!

With breastfeeding, I think with me it's the people who get on their high horses about doing it in public! i don't want to have to take my baby into a dirty toilet just because someone doesnt like watching me do it, and tbh im not sure i feel comfortable doing it in public anyway. I know there are ways to be discreet, but i know i'll feel so self concious. But as you say they say it's best for baby, just not sure it's right for me to pressure myself into it. We'll see anyway :)

Cravings.... seafood sticks (which i HATED with a passion before i got pregnant!!) and brown sauce with EVERYTHING, even had it with curry yesterday
Also loving bacon as well. All the healthy stuff of course... :p xxxx

Todays food looked like this.... not on plan at all :(

EE

Breakfast ~ toast with brown sauce (again)
Lunch (in work) ~ took in a baked potato and fruit with good intentions, ended up going to Greggs and having a sausage roll, jam cake and a gingerbread man. I felt shattered and wanted so many carbs to wake me up. Could have made a better choice i guess but hey ho.

Dinner - came home and hubby had made cheese & spinach pasta bake, it was amazing!! :)
Also had chocolate cheesecake with mint ice cream for dessert, oh dear :eek::eek:

I did have an apple though so not all is bad haha! xxx

also i won't be around much either, i'm trying to stay away from the internet as much as possible as i'm finding myself googling everything and getting upset and scared and the stress isn't good :(
the other day i had horrible shooting pains up my legs, took to google and all i got was articles and comments about miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies, i broke down to hubby as i was absolutely terrified.
i'll keep popping in every now and then to keep u all updated. xxx

Wooop what a lovely picture! I'm so happy for you babe. Wow 14 weeks! Any signs of a bump yet? :D
STAY AWAY FROM GOOGLE, ignore everything you read. You can never get a proper diagnosis from Google anyway as it never asks for full symptoms! Don't get yourself stressed out, you know everything is fine and you have a gorgeous little baby growing inside of you, so exciting! :D xxx

Thanks girls :) 14+6 today. 15 weeks tomorrow!!!
Me and OH have been saying we think its a girl, Id love a girl! But i'd also love a boy too. Definitely wouldn't like both at the same time though lol!! ;)

So ive managed to stay away from google all week, yay! not had much to google really anyway as it's all been smooth over here this week thankfully :)
I also now have a teeny bump :D

We bought the pram, the graco one. It came yesterday, felt so weird seeing it. I still can't believe i'm going to have a baby next year

Food wise ive been really good, not really following slimming world, just trying to make good choices all round :)

B - porridge, milk, raspberries, no added sugar juice
L - Chicken sandwich with added pine nuts, extra light mayo, cress, followed by seafood sticks and a banana, no added sugar juice
D - Gammon (fat removed) no yolk egg, pineapple, cajun wedges and salad, no added sugar juice
S - Maybe some hot chocolate or dark chocolate, not sure. OH bought a lovely fruit salad for me from Tesco so i'll have that later too. :)

xx
