    Hi all

I started SF on 24th July weighing 13st 1lbs and have stuck to it everyday but using the optima slimfast bars from the states and the uk ready made milkshakes, in 3 and a bit weeks I have so far only lost 4 pounds, dont get me wrong I am grateful but just thought it would be a bit quicker but my boyfriend thinks I look different so thinks I am losing inches rather than pounds, could this be right, have any of SF followers had this? and do the scales eventually follow?

    thanks

    Hiya

If you are having reduced calories then the scales have to shift! It is impossible not to lose weight if you burn more than you eat.

From experience people do tend to have periods of shrinking in size and then in weight so the scales will drop!

Therefore well done on the four pounds and keep it going.

    Hi Icemoose

Thanks for your reply yeah I guess the scales are bound to move soon! just seems to be quite slow at the moment, I done SF a few years back and the weight loss was pretty quick but am finding it easy to stick to which is the main thing (normally give up after a week) so far so good and appetite has shrunk so all positive stuff just hope the scales start shifting soon!

    Thanks

The important thing is not to get discouraged and give up, whatever diet you're on sometimes for whatever reason and sometimes for no reason at all the scales just will not move. Try taking your measurements every week aswell as weighing yourself, just something simple like waist, hip, upper arm and upper thigh. If you have no weight loss but have an inch loss you'll feel much better about it.

hi me too! scales say ive even gained weight which is gutting but my freind says its because ive been doing LOADS of exercise and im gaining muscle which is heavier that fat (still awful to have scales say im putting on when ive tried sooo hard and stuck to the diet religiously)
I can deffo feel my clothes getting looser tho so Im determined to ignore scales and carry on regardless:)

    Hi Sugar Lipswales & Collywobble

Sorry for the delay in reply but thanks for your messages, yep am just going to keep at the slimfast and hopefully soon the scales will start to show the difference, I do feel better in myself and clothes are starting to get slightly looser so it is working and I am finding it quite easy to stick with and dont actually feel like i am on a diet as eating 6 times a day rather than being starving between meals.

Collywobble you might well be putting on muscle if your doing loads of excercise, I wouldn't worry too much about the scales as your most likely losing body fat, keep at it!

yeah i have the same problem this week too ... a +2lb :cry: but have lost 3.5" in total :D and dropped a cup size :D since my last wi... i think its because i've upped my exercise to include a Rosemary Conley aerobics dvd (yes the mental images you have of a 200lb+ woman jumping around the living room are pretty accurate lmao) and walking the dog everyday :D so hopefully ... fingers crossed ... next week should be better :D
