everyone keeps talking about eating to few calories being bad for your metabolism and can cause it to shut down then your body stores and holds on to everything you put pass your lips! i've just been wondering about this as my first wi lost 9lb 2n wi lost 5lb 3rd and 4th wi only lost 2lb each time kind of lost heart, but hopefully back on track as of today, hence visiting site! ps i am doing maintainance, started on it as opposed to tfr,

To be honest I have no idea about this one, i too have heard all the metabolism stories but all I know is I want quick results and this diet seems to give that.
My suggestion is that due to the re-feeding process and not just diving straight into full on fatty foods is the way the diet puts all that right. Just my opinion, please no shouting at me girls if i'm wrong. x x x x

    mini goals
    1. get through first week Done :D
    1.5. get through week 2..

    3. to drop a dress size

On any weight reduction programme, your metabolism will drop. It drops a little further on a VLCD, but will then stop dropping.

The refeed plan that goes at the end of the diet will restore it again, but like any other diet, it will be lower once you are slimmer as you don't need the energy to carry excess around.
