On a count down now - off to Mexico in 2 weeks time. It's a special 33rd anniversay trip - really excited about it - can't wait

We'll be staying in a resort near Playa del Carmen on the Mayan Riviera. The plan is to have a romantic break with a bit of sightseeing thrown in - particularly keen to visit the Mayan pyramids.

Would love to hear if any of you have been over there and what you'd recommend as 'must sees'.

Have a fantastic time, it's a really beautiful part of the world, you'll love it.

Had 2 weeks away at Cancun without the kids for both our 40th birthdays last May. Your in for a real treat.

Chechen Iza is a sight to behold. Get yourself to the top for the view before they close it off to the public sometime soon. Take water as it can get to 40+ Deg inland. There is an underground place to swim on the way there, as part of a hotel complex. not to be missed. I forget it's name but you swim with 'blind' fish! Xcaret and the evening show is an experience you will never forget too. Go snorkelling too, or Diving. Bring back a proper hammock for next summer lol.

Avoid the 'sacha distel' crooner impersonator on the romantic lobster dinner cruize unless you like that sort of thing. Very funny tho and sorely tempted to chuck him in. lol

Im very jealous.

Well it certainly sounds like we'll find plenty to see - swimming with dolphins is one of the things Mr.D has always wanted to do. It's his birthday while we're there so I'll try to arrange it for his special day
