Mousse APPRECIATION....

MUST get a grip
Evening peepsies!

I am totally taken in with the mousses at the mo and really enjoyed them as follows:

1st = toffee/walnut
2nd = FOF
3rd = strawberry

I've tried choc & choc mint - but I'm not all that keen on choccy flavours so I wont bother with choc-orange.....

Just wondered what any of the others were like??????????

Fankoo very very much!

BTW - I know about moussing the tetra's but I'm not keen on them as they are a bit toooooooooo intense for my ickle wickle tastebuds ! xxx

i love love love love love love the mousses .

its choco/mint all the way for me i just love love love love love it omg mmmmmmmmmmmm

ashley xx p.s. im going for one now hehehehehe

I can't wait to buy some mix a mousse tomorrow!!

I've tried the banana and chocolate tetras with mix a mousse but am not a fan. it takes all sorts as my friend Theresa has a choc tetra every day and likes it with lumps in!
I think I might try a strawberry or butterscotch tommorrow?

My fav is psyllium husk porrige made with butterscotch.

i love making upside down chocolate trifle or upside down butterscotch trifle.
i make jelly with the orange flavouring , leave to set, then make a choc or butterscotch mousse, put in a deep dish and pile loads of orange jelly on top and eureka: one upside down chocolate/butterscotch trifle. yummmmy

I love the Vanilla mousse and add a little Cinnamon. It is absolutely delicious. Also like Fruits of the Forest, Choc Mint, Winter Spiced Orange and Toffee and Walnut

That vanilla and cinnamon sounds fab - I sometimes use half vanilla hot with coffee and have a sprinkle of cinnamon - I'm def gonna try that one xxxxxxxx

I had my first mousse last night!! I followed the instructions - icey cold water blitzed like mad, left to set....

... now what SHOULD the texture be like, are we talking, spoon in and lots of visible bubbles? like an aero mousse (sorry for food porn there) .. or is it meant to be like a yogurty texture? like those peti felou choc puddings? (again, naughty food porn) ...

also, I didn't know you could moussearize your tetras!! how do you do that?

I leave mine a bit longer than 10 mins and its set like if you tip it out the bowl it stays in the same shape???? How much water & mousse mix did you use hun?
I use full scoop and 250ml water but most people only use 150ml so if you did that it should've deffo set and not been runny... It should be like blancmange?
xxxxxxxxxxxx

oh must try harder then, it was rather runny...

Right.. I'll have another go tonight

Top tips:
  • Make a vanilla mousse with around a quarter of a teaspoon of sunshine orange flavouring - tastes like cheesecake!
  • Make a choc mousse with around a quarter of a teaspoon of summer berry flavouring - tastes like blackforest gateux!
Both very nice. :)

My other faves are banana, butterscotch and cappuccino - choc orange and strawberry aren't bad either.

I've yet to successfully make a mousse from the tetras, despite my sachet mousses being perfect. My tetra mousses refuse to even slightly thicken!
