As Ducolax isn't doing the necessary, and I have seen Movicol being recommended, I bought some today after a 3rd degree at the pharmacist. I'm 59 and he treated me like a child. Sheesh, these people can be so obstructive.

Anyway, I would appreciate advice from users of the best dosage etc.

Yes it does and thank you for the link. :) However the dosage varies considerably in both number of sachets to take per day and the duration of days taking them. I asked as I know other VLCD people on the usual forums have found it highly effective and I welcome their advice on usage.

my daughters on movical perminantly, her maintanance dose is 1 sachet per day but when severly constipated shes allowed upto 10 sachets a day.

the way it worked with her in the beginning it went up a sachet per day till she was going normally then they took it down a sachet a day till it stabalised, thats then the maintenance dose

Mine was the same Claire she is on two a day as her maintenance programme. However she did the rapidly increased dose for faecal impaction to start with. I think if I was going to use it in the instance for CD I would probably just start with a low dose and increase gradually until you get some movement
