    Hi everyone,

I am now on day 6 of the diet and feeling worse than ever. I found days 1 & 2 tough then it was ok after that, but then yesterday evening I just all of a sudden felt really awful. Headachey, achey, really tired, cold. I ended up going to bed at about 9 I just couldn't bear to stay awake feeling the way I did. Then I didn't sleep well at all last night, just kept thinking I should come off the diet if it is making me ill like this. I just really don't feel right.

I've done a test and I am in Ketosis, have been since day 4, so surely I should be feeling great now shouldn't I?

I've also been getting this ache in my lower back on the right hand side which is worrying me as well. Especially as someone I know who has been doing LighterLife for a couple of weeks was rushed to A&E yesterday with a kidney infection.

I'm really battling with myself trying to decide whether to stick with the diet or not. I think it comes down to the fact that I just don't know if the way I'm feeling is right or not as this is my first time on a VLCD. I just thought all the bad feelings would be gone by day 6. Hubby keeps saying, well if its making you ill you probably should stop.

I just don't know what to do

Hi Cupcake Monster - this does sometimes happen. I don't feel wonderful the first week but then feel much better in the second and full of energy, I agree with IITWI, give it a couple of days, consult your doc if you are worried and see how you feel before you decide its not for you.

Hi Cupcake monster - most people feel pretty rubbish for a couple of weeks before starting to feel better again. Some unfortunately don't ever feel better but most do. I seem to remember I felt really drained and exhausted for 2-3 weeks and then have felt great ever since.

Re the bach ache are you drinking enough water and then some more. Your kidneys really do need plenty of water to flush everything through. I get similar pain and its nearly always down to not drinking enough (even though i might be drinking the minimum recommended amount!).

There are also some pretty nasty bugs going around at the moment which might be why you are reeling rotten. I know I've got a stinking cold/sinus infection /temperature/cold shakes at the moment - but thats me and not CD!!_
