What about just cutting a couple of things out your current diet, see how that goes rather than doing full blown ww/pointing.
Like making small changes.....white bread to wholmeal. cut out some takeaways or go for light option. etc....
i guess you've already thought of these tho...but you'll know urself if your heads not in the right place then you're really fighting a losing battle.
