New Internet Scam for your info

Just a wee warning about an Internet Scam thats been doing the rounds this weekend.

A pop up is appearing on peoples computer and locking them. The pop up has the Strathclyde Police Corporate Logo and says your machine has been locked by the police because of illegal activity and youll have to pay a fee of £100 to have it unlocked.

A lot of people have been caught out because of the official police logo and terminology

Obviously police dont use these tactics at all and its a scam.

If it appears on your PC contact Strathclyde Police on 01415322000 to inform them.

Agreed, but maybe they haven't checked (with this scam) because they may have been gambling, viewing not so nice sites, etc and feel that they have been doing something illegal and don't want to risk getting into more trouble ....sometimes you react without thinking
