New to xenical

Hello,
Just thought I'd say hi as I'm starting xenical on Monday and have been lurking around here the last few days picking up tips! The doctor prescribed them to me a while ago but I'm only just 'in that place' where I'm ready to give it a go, if you know what I mean.

I've lost a stone on my own (lost it in about 6 weeks after Xmas) and then have just maintained it since instead of losing more :( am ready to knuckle down again now though and more than ready for Monday and have my alli diet book too :)

I can't see any details with the tablets about contacting/registering with the company for support though, can anyone help with this? Thanks x

Hi,
I'm not sure about contacting the company either...although that would be good if anyone can help with that.
I thought I'd say hi as I have also just started taking xenical. My Dr has been trying to persuade me to take it for a while and it has been sat in my medicine cabinet for some months now and I finally decided this weekend to do for it!
I did take it before (years ago) but had some bad side effects, although looking back I was too young then and didn't understand what sort of diet I needed to go with the tablets...I thought taking them was enough.
I also do SW, but have been struggling the last few weeks, so I'm hoping this will really help.
Well done on the stone, that is really good. And maintaining is better than putting it back on - so well done!
Hope it is all going well on xenical for you so far!

Hi
I started on Xenical last week and so far so good, no nasty side effect yet :)

It does seem that as long as you stick to the "less than 5g of fat per 100g of food you should be ok although the hardest part up to now has been trying to work out what I can and can't eat.

I think there used to be a company contact for Xenical years ago but it doesnt seem to be around now which seems a bit of a shame.

Best of luck with xenical x

just wanted to say hiya and let you know that the pills work good as long as you read all the labels and stick to 5g per 100 fat.

you will get loads of encouragement in here and i have found it has helped me a lot.

i usually get to 6 weeks, break the diet and never go back to the club cos i'm embarrassed but i'm plodding along nice and steady in here and am determined to lose all these spare tyres once and for all.

let us know how you go hun :)

Thanks sazie and mrs a for your replies :) weighed myself this morning and have put on 11lbs of the 14 lbs I lost in the last few weeks, ugh :( So really back on the wagon today with xenical to help hopefully! Would love to lose 4 stone, but would be very happy with 3 or even 2.5!

I'm not telling anyone apart from my husband that I'm taking xenical as i think people see it as an easy way of losing weight which it's not in my opinion, just a helping hand!

How are your first few days going sazie? And mrs a, it's good to hear that you've kept going as that's also my problem, get to a few weeks and get bored! Just watching my toddler eat her lunch and determined not to eat the leftovers :) xx

welcome and good luck to the newbies!
this is probably the longest i've stayed on a diet/healthy eating plan too, by now i'd normally have given up and put on half of what i'd lost, but this time i'm determined. i've lost 1st 9 and gone from 16.10-15.1, would love to get to 13 eventually, but right now, my goal is to try and get to 14.10 before i go back to the doctor in a fortnight, so that i can go knowing i've lost 2 stone, and get kept on the tablets.
if my eating habits continue the way they have done yesterday and today though, i'll be gaining on saturday!

good luck, and do remember we're all in the same boat here, dont be afraid to ask questions.

PS, the tablets can cause bloating and constipation for some people in the first week or so x

Hi, welcome to Mini's :D

There had used to be a telephone number for Xenical, and you could actually speak with specialised nurses etc but it doesn't exist anymore.. they changed it all and it did it online..the map assist website is really limited

Well day three seems to be going ok....I did have some stomach cramps and my stomach made some weird noises after lunch, but luckily no bad side effects at work!!
I've got my SW weigh in on Weds, so I guess I'll see then how I am getting on....although I won't have done the tablets a full week by then so maybe its a bit unfair to judge so soon.
I'm being pretty good on the healthy eating though, knowing I'm on xenical has def helped me say no to things at work today...lets hope it continues.
Well done on the fab weight loss zoso.
I would like to loose about another 4 stone I think. But my next goal is 14st 7 (I'm 14st11 now) as that will mean I've lost 2 stone.
After that I will be aiming to get into the 13st bracket, then my 3 stone acheivement. The lightest I can remember being in a LONG time in 13st3 for my cousins wedding about 6-7 years ago!! So getting to that again would be AMAZING!!!

I'm glad I've read your post I was extremely bloated and constipated which I thought was odd considering the side effects!! Thanks :)

Thanks sozo and bunny :) nice that everyones so helpful and obviously doing well, looking forward to my first weigh in already!

good luck :)

I'm due to see my doc next week and wondered if people did slimming world and xenical am so glad I joined here to see it does work :) what short of losses on average is expected and wot does 5g per 100 fat mean lol probably being proper dozy here,
Jo x

Look on your food label, if the total amount if fat is more than 5g per 100g then its over the 5% rule, and you should have no more than 15g per meal. And no more in total for the day than 45g. Great site to work it all out for you is my fitness pal...

Slimming world and xenical go great together, there us a thread about... have a look for it

I am at slimming world and have lost 8lb in 4 wks yet my hubby has eaten exactly the same as me but he is taking xenical and has lost none!!!!! Any ideas as too why??
Confused ia LOL

He is or he isn't?
