Hi, joining SW for my first meeting tomorrow, well tonight since its nearly 3am!!! Really nervous as I am a bit of a hermit and dont go out much, the different food plans seem a bit daunting but some of the info on here has made it seem clearer, just wondering how you choose which one you go on? hopefully will get alot of info at the meeting:)

Hi MrsEllis, Welcome to the forum.

Well done in venturing out to your first meeting. Are you going alone or with someone, I wonder? Nice to have company along with you but other than that I am sure you will find everyone very friendly anyway.

Don't forget to start up your own diary on here as it's such a help for others to find you for that all important support and encouragement.

Im going on my own, I want to get started ASAP. Otherwise I have to wait til next week, wednesday, to be able to go with someone I know, I dont want to wait another week :)

You have joined the best slimming group and if you like eating and cooking you will be supprised how much food you can eat and still loose weight!

I know it seems daunting at first with a lot of information to take in at once. My consultant recommended doing the extra easy to start with especially if you've never done slimming world before, I've found it really easy and even my hubby has managed to understand it and stick to it with me.
I know some people at group change daily so they might alternate between red and green days everyday, but as long as you stick with one plan for the entire day it doesn't matter which one you follow as you'll still loose weight.

I started out alone and have made some friends at group now, everyone is really supportive of each other and the consultant is fab, always encouraging us and ringing or texting though the week if we need support.

I went to my first group alone on Tuesday and it was fine, just say hi to everyone, and someone is bound to strike up a conversation, they did with me! Also, I went to a club on Monday and they couldn't register me because the computers were down - this after I queued for an hour! But I still went to a another club the next day - so if you don't get on at tonight's one for whatever reason, don't let it throw you off! I was so tempted to go "gah, it's fate, I'm not meant to do SW" but I went on Tuesday and loved it!

Also, what is really daunting for me is trying to remember everything, and going ot the supermarket and trying to work out what I could have for my healthy extras and syns was so confusing! So I would suggest think what you would like to have, then see if it fits in the plan, then if it doesn't look at one alternative at a time.
