Hi guys

I am just starting day 1 of SS and so far I've only tried the porridge which was ok apart for tasting a lot like baby food.

I'm lookin to lose about 2 stone ne I've tried countless diets in the past and I'm just hoping this one works.

Anyway that's the end of my intro and I'm looking forward to sharing my journey with you al.

Hey! I'm just into my 4th week, after the first 3/4 days you will find this diet very easy!! Although i am having massive problems with water retention, and would like someone to help and enlighten me, I only lost 1 lbs last week after losing a stone in 2.5 weeks. It's a great diet so try stick with it!!

And if anyone can help me shift my water retention it'll be much appreciated!!

I think when doing this diet u need to see water retention as a weight loss waiting to happen. It's natural that the body will retain extra water if it goes into panic about anything for example if u started exercising or if it's become hot or humid. Best thing is to try green tea and space your water out throughout the day. How much are u actually drinking. All the research says that drinking more than 3 litres a day has no added benefits n doesn't increase weight loss
Main thing is not to panic I'm a nurse and am probably the worst culprit at times. But I hope that helps xx

Thank you so much for replying!! I'm drinking 6 pints of water a day, so 3 litres. I've read to get rid of water retention you drink more water?? I have a holiday in three weeks, wanted to lose another stone but this water retention will not shift :( really getting me down!! X

That can be whats needed a bit extra water but don't go over board. Try green tea it really does work. Instead of extra water have two of those in the morning it'll be an extra 400ml plus but it will make u wee it all out. Your not having coke zero are u? Xx

Nope no cokes of any sort. I have the Cambridge water flavouring (sunshine orange/summer berries) I have 2 shakes per day and 1 bar. 3 pints of plain water and 3 flavoured. Sometime fizzy water... My consultant told me to drink black coffee (I'm not a fan of coffee) but have had 2 or 3 per day. Hasn't changed a thing. Am I allowed green tea on SS? Xx

Yes Hun green tea is fine. She's said have coffee as it a diuretic but it's not always the case. Your not having too much water flavouring are u? Two cups of green tea should help. I wouldn't start taking diuretics as the body holds onto water for one reason or another. Have u lost inches? Sometimes the water just hides the fat u lost on the scales xx

I've lost 16.5 lbs and lost 16 inches... So yeah inches are coming off, but I am now very aware of my belly and how it's much more bloated than previous weeks. The consultant said its because of time of the month, but a weeks gone by after my time of the month and still no improvement. I think I may be having too much flavouring. Will cut that down and see if it helps shift.

What's the best brand of green tea... I've heard its pretty horrendous to drink, but I will do anything to shift it!! How long have you been on the diet? Xxx

I've just restarted today I lost 18.5lb in two weeks then lost the plot with the heat and my hormones and severe constipation I couldn't cope so went onto slimming world for a week n restarting today. Lost 15lb still though and was going to end up binging all the time but been sensible all week so I'm pleased still.
It isn't the nicest thing to drink. Let it cool n it will refresh your mouth a bit. I think last time I had it I had twinnings. Really u should only have a teaspoon of flavouring per day so it may be that. Its worth tweaking about to see if it can be sorted before u try tablets.
I hope the constipation isn't as bad this time even senokot didn't budge it last time. I've started using the fibre powder from today (day 1) to see if it helps.
I've only got to get through 18 days then I'm off on holiday and doing some serious walking so will be eating high protein for 5 days then back on it. Xx

Ah you are doing incredibly well done!! Where are you going in your hols? I take it you are coming off the diet when you go away? I have 24 days till I go in hol, I'm more looking forward to eating than going away haha!

I had bad constipation also, Used dulcolax (sheer and utter relief, it's the best!!) That made everything move! Now I use the fibre, finding everything is running like click work again! Xxx

The duculax eventually did help but was still bad lol.
I'm going to the Yorkshire Dales hill climbing Hun for a long weekend but then I'm going Tenerife in October so need to stay on plans Inbetween the two trips. I have company conference though which will be hard living in a hotel n eating meals three times a day with others. Evening meals will be worse. Defo ss+ that three days. Where are u off to? X

Yes I think you'll defo need to step up to SS+. I find in social occasions are abit awkward when you are just on SS. I went to a wedding last week and there was a massive roast served with tonnes of alcohol, everyone was asking why I wasn't eating, if I wanted them to cook me something different, if I was feeling ok, I even got are you pregnant cause you aren't drinking!!! After I had lost a stone! What an insult lol. Hill climbing, you'll need a lot of energy for that, and imagine you will be burning a heck of a lot.

I'm off to Spain for 9 days. Cannot wait! xxx

It's worth the heart ache this diet for the results. In my profession when we work away we have to go to dinner in the evenjng it cheese me off. Breakfast I'll say I had in my room lunch I'll say I've brought stuff in my cool bag n off to it eat it jn my room but I'll have a shake n take hand blender n dinner I'll have chicken n salad. My boss always choses Thai for our teams Meal out. Soooo annoying xx

That doesn't wash when I had glandular fever I still got dragged into it. Oh n it goes on fit hours when we have gala dinner. Does my head in. We have an exam and role play assessment to do so if I say I'm sick people will think its to do with that xx

Oh no, sounds awful :( looks like you will just have try to grin and bare it! I think your company need to relax abit. If people are ill then they are ill!! Shouldnt be dragged into it! Just remember nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!! Xxx
