I all I'm off to join my 1st ever sw class tomorrow, I'm a ww gold member (ex leader in fact) but I've lost heart with it, my mum and sister have joined sw and I'm impressed lol. So any tips, pointers? Any pitfalls I should avoid? Tia!
Welcome! The only thing to say is to stick to the plan and be honest about what you are eating - but I guess that is the same as WW. Watch the little things - ketchup, mustard etc are easy to ignore but all add up! This site is really helpful and supportive though so any specific question will be on here somewhere - so search / ask away.
Follow the rules - especially measuring your Healthy Extras
Eat when you're hungry
Eat slowly and enjoy the food
Stop when you're full
Drink plenty of water
Study the superfree and free foods, and fill your fridge with the ones you LOVE. Eat these when you're hungry. You will be less likely to eat syns when you have easy access to free foods that you LOVE.
I have a box of fruit and veg delivered to my house every week to make sure I have plenty of superfree food in the fridge. I have no excuses and it helps to ensure I have variety. What doesn't get eaten goes into a soup before my next box arrives, so nothing goes to waste.
I thought I would really miss alcohol and saved my syns for G&T's. I didn't miss drinking a whole bottle of red and found myself drinking less and less. I stayed off alcohol for the whole of Lent and again for July.

Just touching on a point made above but I feel its an important one for a newbie to know- don't avoid eating your syns!
You would never try not to eat free food, or avoid your healthy extras? The plan is made up free food, healthy extras and syns and to follow the plan correctly and get the best results you need to incorporate all 3
