Nikki's Reality Check

You too hon - and the diary looks great for today!
Take care x

Good morgen
Feeling more positive today thank God!! Am back to keep the diary so will post that later on when it is a bit more complete. Am enjoying sneaking some people's recipes off here (thanks ;)) Anyway am keeping the hope alive that some poundage will have dropped by next Friday. xx

Blimming 'ell!!! Just ate another thing which I decided to find out the Syn value after! M+S Smoked and dry cured trout (part of their 3 for £5 range which is good for chicken pieces, prawns etc for lunches) was 6 syns!!!! I love smoked fish, you would have thought the fact it is 'good' fat in it would make it less syns... ne'er mind xx

Argh....rubbish! Hope it was a nice use of 6 syns? Prob a better use of syns than my choc caramel last night, or my cookie that a client insisted I eat today, lol. Never mind.
Really glad to hear that you're feeling more positive hon - good for you :) hope that doesnt' sound patronising. Sometimes written stuff comes across wrong! I did think about you today and hope you were feeling better x

Course it doesn't sound patronising chick! The trout was nice, but can think of other things that would have gone down better for that amount! Ha ha. (Wine wine wine - sorry subconscious there). I bet the cookie was good though wasnt it?? ;) Anyway going to post the old diary below. Night night, and thank you xx

Just wanted to say thanks to Melissa87 for the pasta pesto rosso recipe - it was fantastic and popular with the OH as well!! Felt like proper naughty food! Also just as a side line so no one is confused, I follow the Extra Easy plan xx

nikki your food is so imaginative and sounds lovely. glad you have perked up, keep the faith - you are 2/3 of the way there and doing fab xx

Thanks Karen (goes all bashful). I really do try to keep the meals for the day different so I remain interested and not rely on certain things (I get bored easily you see!) and also because I like to provide different things for the OH to try. Been getting a lot of inspiration from the lovely on here too! :) xx

I don't know how sorry - I think people on here use some sort of program? There is a thread about it somewhere - I'll let you know if I find it.
Hope you're having a good day x

Boooo hoooo. Very bad weekend. I am so embarrassed that I gave in so easily yesterday. The truth? 64.5 syns. Don't deserve to lose anything :(

Of course you do Nikki. Don't let the weekend spoil the whole week.

There is a woman who attends my group who goes on about 6 holidays a year and is out every weekend, yet she has still lost loads of weight. A few weeks ago she made the point that she still needs a life so accepts that her weight loss will be much slower.

Perhaps you need to think about it in a similar way? You could food optimise strictly for most of the week and flexi syn every weekend. Your weight will come off just much more slowly.

Don't give up. You can do this. Take care hun, JJ x

It can't be as bad as all that hon - you have synned it up and acknowledged it. Not thought "ah well it doesn't matter how much I've had". You've actually SYNNED it, which is fantastic! You do deserve a loss, and may get one. If you don't, you know exactly why, and can work on making a few changes next week.
Sending hugs and loads of luck x

Thanks girls. Really needed your pep talks. Sometimes I am a bit of a quitter and I think right, I have had a bad day and it continues to the next or I have had a bad lunch and it continues on to dinner rather than stoppping and saying right, shouldnt have had that but never mind, lets start again. JJ I think you are right to compare me to the woman in your class. As with her, I am not willing to give up the socialising I get to do (when I do!) but I am willing to stick to the plan throughout the week, so I shouldnt be too downhearted or even expect huge losses. Just got to keep in mind that even if I do it for 5 days a week it has to be better than the food and lifestyle I was living before, when the weight would have been increasing rather than STS or coming off slowly. Although it was difficult Giblet I am glad I worked out the syns for Sunday even though they were hideous! Because it is like a reality check and it makes you realise that you cant eat like that all the time. To be honest I felt dreadful on Sunday night, didnt enjoy the takeaway I had and couldnt eat it all so it was a waste of money too! Thanks again xx
