I have a tv back home (so I got all the Christmas rubbish) but I'm in uni halls at the moment so have no space for one and even if I did I couldn't afford a tv licence. On demand all the way!

I thought a home tv licence covered uni or has it changed? You could always get a tv card for your computer

Nope wouldn't cover me at uni.

I'm actually not that bothered about watching tv. When I have it on at home it's as background noise while I do other stuff. If I get bored and want to watch something while in halls I just have a browse on the on demand.

The TV licence used to cover student halls when I was young enough to be a student . Looks like they've changed it now, just in time to play endless repeats over Christmas when everyone is off and actually has time to watch TV. Why can't they start some of these much advertised 'new series' over Christmas instead of sometime in Jan? The same old war films are dragged out year after year.....
