On the Ning Nang Nong
Where the Cows go Bong!
And the Monkeys all say Boo!
There’s a Nong Nang Ning
Where the trees go Ping!
And the tea pots Jibber Jabber Joo.
On the Nong Ning Nang
All the Mice go Clang!
And you just can’t catch ‘em when they do!
So it’s Ning Nang Nong!
Cows go Bong!
Nong Nang Ning!
Trees go Ping!
Nong Ning Nang!
The mice go clang!
What a noisy place to belong,
Is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong!

I wondered if you'd been on the wine??!!

LOL only joking - love it and my son learnt it by heart as his "party piece" as I use to read it to them at bedtime ... with lots of emphasis.

Yes I used to love that as a kid, and even now as a big kid !:D

Aha. Spike! My Dad's favourite.

This one was my party piece

Bazonka

Say Bazonka every day
That's what my grandma used to say
It keeps at bay the Asian Flu'
And both your elbows free from glue.
So say Bazonka every day
(That's what my grandma used to say)

Don't say it if your socks are dry!
Or when the sun is in your eye!
Never say it in the dark
(The word you see emits a spark)
Only say it in the day
(That's what my grandma used to say)

Young Tiny Tim took her advice
He said it once, he said it twice
he said it till the day he died
And even after that he tried
To say Bazonka! every day
Just like my grandma used to say.

Now folks around declare it's true
That every night at half past two
If you'll stand upon your head
And shout Bazonka! from your bed
You'll hear the word as clear as day
Just like my grandma used to say!

Spike Milligan

Lol! Sounds like a poem about verruca cream!

This was my fave Spike M poem;

Soldier Freddy

Soldier Freddy
Was never ready,
But Soldier Neddy,
Unlike Freddy
Was always ready
And steady.

That's why,
When soldier Neddy
Is-outside-Buckingham-Palace-on-guard-in-the-pouring-wind-and-rain-being-steady-and-ready,
Freddie-
Is home in beddy.

And this. Simple but brilliant;

Rain

There are holes in the sky where the rain gets in
But they're ever so small
That's why rain is thin.:D

I think Spike was a favourite of many Dad's. My dad too!! I just phoned him and said them all down the phone. He was pleased :D - he says them all to his primary 2's.

I think I shall be singing the Ning nang nong at my friends on the Moonwalk - Dad, Mum and I will probably be the only ones who know it. How come my generation has missed out on this??? (apart from me) T'is very sad!!

If I didn't know Ning Nang Nong I would definitely have thought you'd been at the absynth again young lady:D

Love Spike Milligan and all the Goons the goon show was really funny. They don't make them like that anymore Neddy.

For someone who suffered so much from depression he knew how to make people laugh.

Love Mini xxx

Yes, he suffered from Bipolar, which I get. Of course, in olden days, we were just manic depressives:rolleyes: (I was diagnosed some 30 years ago as MD)

Now we have posh names, but it still feels the same;)

I wonder if he ever wanted to lose it...be cured. Often I don't want to be. The highs can be so much 'fun' and the time when I'm at my most creative:D

Then there's the lows :(.............
