PCOSers on cambridge

So today while talking about my totm I mentioned to CDC that I have pcos. I have changed doctors so many times that they seem to have lost record of all this. I didn't get my medical record signed by doctor because I've not got any conditions. I didn't realise that pcos was anything serious. Got told off by CDC and had an email from her earlier saying that sometimes weight gain can be because of pcos and I should have mentioned it but it completely slipped my mind as I don't take any medication for it and other than totm not being regular I have no other problems. I wanted to know if there are any PCOSers and how this diet affects you so I can keep and eye out for changes..I thought mood swings was a natural thing when you are on this diet and dont get what you want to eat.

weight gain sounds a load of rubbish to me, sorry just my opinion.
I have pcos, got diagnosed with it when i was 10 and had a very serious opertion to remove 3 cysts on my ovaries when i was just 10 years old.
I am now 22, and both my GP and CDC are fully aware i have pcos, i got my medical forms signed at the start of my journey, NOT because i have pcos, but because my bmi was over 40. I've never once put on weight these whole 16 weeks (almost 17 weeks)

It doesn't affect this diet plan at all, its just something that improves and gets better by losing weight lol.

That's exactly what I thought. I don't think my weight gain was because of pcos it was just plain and simple I ate crap. I did email back and explain so waiting to hear back now.

I have pcos
Im 29 was diagnosed at 17. It does worsen weight gain and is sort of a cause. I say sort of because it seems to make ne very efficient at using calories oarticularly sugar. At my heaviest i was 15 stone running 30km a week and eating about 1500 cals a day with no weight loss. In order to lose on a nornal diet i need to maintain 1500 cals with no cafbs or 1000 cals with balance byt no oricessed food. i did lighterkifw last hr losing 4 stone gained 2 back while working out all of the above. that said the problem is still overeating its just that overeating for.me and i assume others with pcos can occur at a lower calorie intake. losing weight makes my cycle more stable and means i lose my slightky increased body hair. pcos makes it harder to lose weight until you are armed with all the knowledge. On a vlcd its not an issue due to ketosis so the diet suita us and becaue a lot if our food cravings are caused by our insuling imbalances and ketosis keeps blood sugar and also blood insulin stable. It will be.more important when returning to food. it sound like yoir cdc has a vague idea but no detailed knowledge of pcos. If yoive not already try researching the condition it really will help when returning to food. Reading your posts especially sinead i see the same determination i feel, i refuse to be overweight just because i have a condition which makes me lrone to it. Just means e need to work a bit harder but its that or give in to it which clearly none of us are willing to do or we wouldnt be here. Sorry to ramble but i feel knowledge on the subject is the best way to keep weight off longterm. Ive only 2 stone to go to goal and im happy with the long term changes needed but im using this break from food to equip myself with the knowledge to make them. Good luck to you bith ee can all do it!
