    Hi guys

Im wondering if you can help. I have been on LT since March and have lost nearly 5 stone so far. I am 16st 4 now and I would love to get down to 10 stone. So the road is still fairly long and stretched out ahead of me.

The problem is I am a primary school teacher in a temporary position in a school. My contract is reviewed on a yearly basis, and at the moment I dont yet know where I stand for next year. There is a possibility for a permanent contract, which I would dearly love.

I have the First Communion class this year and it is a custom of the school for the teachers, principal, trustees and the parish priest to go out for lunch after the communion mass. I dont know what to do! It would look v bad for me not to go to the lunch, but I dont want to draw undue attention to myself in front of what amounts to my prospective interview panel for the permanent job.

The principal knows I am doing LT, but I dont know if she would appreciate me drawing attention to myself trying to make a shake in the restaurant, or eat anything that is not purchased in the restaurant. Do you think it would be very bad to eat plain chicken breast? I cheated once on this diet and the feeling of depression and failure I got was soul destroying. On the other hand I want to look at the big picture and I know I will stick this to the end and reach my goal. I just dont want to scupper myself so early on!! Sorry for the novel of a post, and sorry im so indecisive!!
    Any input appreciated!

Well done to everyone on LT - you are all doing so well! Keep up the great work!

Do refeed and have the meal. LT will always be there but the job may not :)

go with plan A and plan B go as if to stick with LT and if you sence an issue order your plain chicken and veg.
Or have the above play with it on your plate throw some on the floor hide it in a napkin and sit next to someone who genuinley understands, then nip to the toilet and have your flap jack. Good Luck!

first holy communion, that brings back memories

Difficult situation ..... i know how hard school positions are to come by ...espcially catholic ones ...i would be tempted to eat ....after all having the right job is 80% of your time and the difference between being happy at work or hating it!
People have eaten for a lot less of a reason (holidays, just because etc etc) and i do actually think this is a good one! I wouldnt refeed for one meal i would just be very careful and do lots of exercise till you get back into keotosis...then, DON'T do it again!!

If it was me I'd eat the plain chicken breast and as someone said, you don't even have to eat all of it; you can hide some. If you don't think you can get a meal like that (if it's going to be hard to get food without sauces, etc.) then I'd probably refeed for the week and then go back on.

You say that the principal knows you are doing the diet - are they approachable ? Why don't you have a quiet word and see how the land lies? It may be relatively easy to avoid the food at the restaurant - you could just stick with water (tummy bug?)

I don't support cheating generally but I do think I would have the chicken breast if it was me! As much as you might stick to LT and hold your head up...... it will look daft to anyone that doesn't know you are on LT and that anyone could be your new employer!!!

But then as Nic said DON'T DO IT AGAIN!!!

Well done on your fantastic loss by the way!!

    Hey!

Me again! Thanks for your many and varied responses to my dilemma! I have calmed down since the initial freak attack I had regarding putting the first morsel of food past my lips since March!

The lunch is today, and with some trepidation I am going to go with the flow and hopefully not put on any weight. I had a WI yesterday and only lost one pound, which is a pity. If I had lost 4 or 5 as usual, I would have flet much better about eating the chicken! Sure, what can you do only soldier on!

Thanks for your interest people, and I look forward to the time when I can help people with their "end of the world" problems!!!

For what its worth....I had some certain work dos where not eating just wasnt an option. I would go with the plain chicken veggies/salad and then straight back to LT......a school job is different...your employers who may not understand LT (and really its none of their business really) and you dont want any links being made to "unhealthy diets etc by the uninformed........best of luck hun!!

Well, I went to the meal and I ate a plain chicken breast and some broccoli and green beans, and guess what? The end of the world did not come! lol. The food was a lot tastier than I remember, I dont think I would have touched green beans before! No one had a starter or dessert which was great for me as I didnt have to make any awkward excuses. I guzzled the water then too, had 6 glasses at meal, 2L beforehand and another half litre since. I should prob drink more water consistently over the day instead of downing it all in one go, but thats a whole other thread, methinks!

Anyway thanks for all the support and encouragement guys, it means a lot to have a sounding board that knows what you are going through and understands fully. Do you know I bought a size 18 top in M&S yesterday and the best thing about it is that it came on a regular sized hanger! Im so used to the larger Evans hangers and now I will never have to put an outsize hanger in my wardrobe again! Im probably very easily pleased now like lol. Anyway, over and out!

PS Thanks missyd for your lovely post! You can do it!
