Rant please re: tax credits/benefits etc

Starlight - can they even impose a pay cut without you all agreeing to it? especially if a union is involved? Its in your contract how much you get paid so they can't change it unless you agree surely??

I think that's called "Welcome to the private sector"
My father was a civil servant all his life and is totally bemused at the stuff my employers get away with - especially in this economic climate.

I've only ever worked in the private sector myself - maybe i have just been lucky with the companies i work for or something cos i've never been treated like that! A few rounds of redundancy which i have managed to avoid and some utterly shocking managers but never has anyone suggested reducing my salary!
