Really Pi***d off now !!

I want to be slim !!

Well what started off as been a really posative day has just down rapidly down hill..

ive just picked my 4yr old daughter up from school and my so called friend shouted at the top of her big gob,

"ARE YOU STILL ON THAT STUPID MILKSHAKE DIET, BECAUSE YOU LOOK KNACKERED, AND YOU NEED TO EAT SOMETHING !"

Not only was i trying to keep the diet news to a select few..
(as i have had very negative comments)
but i also thought i was doing ok,

NOW THE WHOLE OF MY DAUGHTERS PLAY GROUND KNOW...

Now i feel really crap, and could cry.
Worse still i have to put on a brave face tonight as i am going out to celebrate my sons birthday.

Why cant people mind there own buisness or at least keep there opinions to thereselves..

From a very sad and upset Cara

Hi Cara,

You are perfectly entitled to be p**d off with your friend but it is just another hurdle to overcome. Don't let it send you to food - that comfort is fleeting - BUT weight loss is lasting comfort - if you catch my drift,

Feeling good
Smaller Sizes
Getting fitter
etc etc you know the drill

Tell her that you are eating, actually. The soup is the same as any other "full fat" soup and that you are tired because you are having great sex with all your extra energy! That should shut the bi**ch up

Cara I told a "friend", in work after being on my diet for 11 weeks because I thought I could trust him... Fool I was and within the half hour spiteful comments started. like you i just wanted to scream.. Do you know what- it made me so determined to hold my head up and say "up yours", I am doing this for me !! You don't have to put a brave face on -you put your face on and smile and have a wonderful time this will be the last birthday your son will have with his mum at this weight- fron now on you will be loosing and loosing . Cara we will never be able to change nasty people- but we can loose weight and change how we look, luckily you don't have to change your personality- you would never have done that would you.!!! Have a great time and let us know how it goes. Ps I want cake:)

((Cara))

I'm sorry you had to endure such insensitivity hunni.
She obviously wasn't thinking before she spoke.

Try not to let it ruin your evening.

A simillar thing happened to me at work. I felt quite humiliated. But then i thought.. why should I feel humiliated?
I have a weight problem, but i am actively doing something about it. And so are you.

Cara, you are doing brilliantly, don't listen to what people say.

Also, just think, now that everyone knows, you won't have to explain it to anyone else on the playground - so your time and energy can be spent on other things!

Just think, what if someone else heard, and sees how well you are doing. You could be a source of inspiration for someone!

Keep your chin up honey!

I'm with sapce angel on this one. If anyone else says anything just smile and say no it's not the diet thats making me exhausted. nudge nudge wink wink. ;)
Remember you'll soon be slim - she'll always be thoughtless!!!

Put it to one side and forget about it - you are doing something positive and who gives a damn what anyone else thinks this is your life - live it how you want!!!!

Big hugs.

Just a thought...maybe she is insecure about something and is not as happy with your success as she should be. Jealousy is a weird thing that you cant explain. She doesnt even need to be overweight to be unnerved by your success. She just might be unhappy about something in her life and as of yet is not as brave as you are to try to change it....

Just a thought.

I'm looking at this from a slightly different angle.

I have done the research into VLCD's and know my onions which is why I would never say that CD is a silly milkshake diet and would not question the wisdom of a healthy person starting on it.

Any comments you get are from those that don't have the benefit of the knowledge that we all have and they can't help being 'ignorant' can they. Apart from being ignorant, they also will have their own adgendas so bear this in mind and either feel sorry for the fact that they are making fools of themselves, even if they don't know it, or that that have other deeper issues. ;)

You know and can be confident that what you are doing is not only safe and will work but that it is the best option for you so please don't demean yourself by letting these people dictate your mood because they just haven't got a clue and don't deserve to have that power over you :)

OMG !!
I love each and everyone of you.. you have sent me some really good vibes. Your all right i WILL go out for my sons birthday and i will have a good time.

I can do this diet and the reason i can do it is because i am doing it for me and only me..

Using the sex idea for a reason for looking Knackered is a fantatic idea, That will be used on the next negative comment..

Or maybe i should have sex all night every night then see what they say !!

Thank you all sooooo much..
Now off to face my dads girlfriend who too has a lot to say about CD.
Deep breath cara and count to 50 !

Love to all xx

Enjoy your sons birthday party!!!

What wonderful advice:D

Love the sex one:rolleyes: :p

When we decide to change we inadvertently force others around us to look at themselves as well, it has a knock on effect.

Hope your sons birthday was fantastic!

I would not take what she did to much to heart.

I think sometimes when people are unhappy and see other people doing something to better themselves they get passive agressive. Or at least thats how I used to be. I was unhappy with my weight and other things in life and hated seeing friends or people in general getting on better or impoving thier lot. I could be downright mean at times. It was a nasty cycle- I would be snarky then feel bad.. eat to chear myself up and feel worse and the next time I saw that person... well lets just say poor them!

I finally decided to be the one to change and do something for myself. I know that it will just be the way of things and I will have some opposition along the way just as you did from your friend today.

Luckily we have such a great forum to get balanced views and support!

Good luck on your continued journey!

Hey Mr. Chicken,

I wish there was a way to keep this post and store it somewhere here on Minis, because you are so right.

You should become a preacher man! :)

Much respect ...! :D

Your 'friend' is not a friend - she is a jerk!

Hold you head up high and breeze through this diet so it'll annoy her even more when you are thin and gorgeous and she'll still be an ignorant oik!

Hope you're having a lush time at your son's birthday celebration!

Hope you loved the birthday, remeber, everyone will be laughing on the other side of their faces when you are bouncing in to that playground with boundless energy looking gorgeous to boot x

Take her to the one side and explain that is she wants the low down you will quietly give it to her.

Dont let her get you down. There is no point. After all she is the one that cant keep her gob shut and obviously has a problem.

Talk it through with her.
