I mentioned bruising yesterday on my leg.

I spoke to nhs direct this morning and told them my symptoms, they have told me to see my gp today for an emergency appointment as it could be a blood clot

Im getting really worried now as the lumps are travelling up my leg.

Does anyone know much about blood clots or symptoms?

Get to the doc asap. My mate had a clot and the first three docs he visited failed to diagnose it. It nearly killed him! There may be a more innocent explanation but do be careful!!!

Sorry hun dont really know,best you get straight to GP though,better to be safe than sorry! it could well be something of nothing(hope so) it will put your mind at rest if so.....take care!!! Caz xx

Im a nurse, and by the sound of you saying the 'lumps' are travelling up your leg I would say don't bother with the GP, its hard enough to get an appointment anyway, and go straight to A&E. If they suspect a blood clot they will see to you immediatley and you won't have to wait in those long queues.
Other symptoms tend to be the leg particularly the calf where it starts, can feel warm to touch, and also you may experience sligh cramping.
My adivce: go to A&E, bypass the GP.

oh god.

the lumps are about level with my knee and going up my thigh now, its not warm now but it was when it started to hurt last thursday.

Its hurting when i bend my leg or just walking is uncomfortable

Panic over.

They said a blood vessel has burst in my leg which is whats made it swell up and go lumpy. Ive just got to rest it, although ive got to see my gp to get my veins removed

Oh goodness! Thats a bit crazy isn't it? Do what you've been told and rest girl! Your health is too precious to mess with.

ive never been one for doing as im told, im back at work tomorrow morning, ive already missed 3 hours
