After quite a lot of diets decided to go with the Cambridge diet and started last Thursday.
I weighed in at 16st 8lbs, was gutted as had been doing really well and had lost about 13lbs by going to the gym 4 or 5 days a week, however then came the holiday, the food was fantastic and put it all back on again.
The first two days were ok, had the metallic taste in my mouth on day two so seemed to be going ok. The weekend was the hardest as cooking for the family was open to all sorts of temptation.
Yesterday was a nightmare, my boss sprung a surprise business lunch on me with a really senior person in the organisation, couldn't really sit there having a shake, so had a bit of salmon with a tiny bit of veg.
Have to say despite the lack of solid food I haven't really felt hungry, of course there are times when I think about all the things that I am missing out on but am determined to lose three stone.
Although I used to drink half a bottle of wine a night, I haven't missed that and seem to be just as happy as with a glass of coke zero.
I did sneak a look at the scales today, and I know you only weigh yourself once a week but have lost 10lbs, with two days to go in the first week.
The best thing about the CD is the variety of flavours available and the fact that you can have shakes hot or cold, breaks up any monotony.
Drawbacks: The amount of stick I get from my wife for doing it, she has started slimming world and keeps on about how you can eat as much as you want, not sure how that works, we will see how it pans out after a month.
