There is a chinese 5 spice sauce in the Saucy Secrets book that is 1 syn (serves 4). Not tried it yet but really liked the peking lemon sauce and thai hot and sour in the same section......
3/4 pint chicken stock (bovril)
2 tsp minced ginger
juice and grated rind of 1 orange
1 tsp chinese 5 spice
1 tsp cumin
1 red chilli, finely sliced
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 level tbsp cornflour.
Basically bring everything to the boil (apart from the cornflour) and simmer for 2-3 mins.
Make the cornflour into a smooth paste with 1 tbsp of water and then add to other ingredients.
Stir until thickened and then add to stirfry!
