:help2: I have to admit that i'm struggling this evening! :sigh: I'm not hungry but my OH is on nights for the next four nights and usually when he's on nights i stuff my face!! So as predicted as soon as he went out the front door i got the call of the kitchen!

I still have a shake left to have for today and i'm going to hold out until the kids are in bed as thats when it usually gets worse. I know its just psychological! I'm not hungry. I haven't been hungry all day. Its just getting out of that routine and breaking the cycle i guess.

How do you guys cope when you get the psychological munchies?????

haha i didnt cope and had a week of the munchies but i must say i am finding it really hard today to keep on track. so dont give in cos it takes too long to get back on track i have wasted a week when i could have been 3 lb lighter,
you can do it , i found when it got really hard i lurk around on here or stick a few threads on and then the munchies would pass!!!
good luck and dont give in you can do this !

I try and drink some sparkling water to fill me up and do something else - sitting in a hot bath usually does the trick. or paint your nails so you cant smudge them

Hi there! When I get them i tend to brush my teeth, sounds daft but I can't abide the taste of toothpaste mixed with food so it puts me off for a little bit. Otherwise i try and have a hot bath or shower and do some pampering. Paint your nail, you can't eat with wet nails!

I think i'm going to have a bath AND paint my nails AND brush my teeth! Trying anything to stop myself from eating. If i come on and post some random threads later, you'll know why, I've not gone mad (well madder than usual) i'll just be trying to keep my hands busy! lol

just keep focused know its hard. Stay on here read and write. It will pass and you will be so pleased you have got through it.

You can do this!! Just imagine yourself at a crossroads, really visualise it, one way is snacking on the fridge tonight and generally eating food, and the other way is being slim, being healthy and the future. You need to decide which path you want to tread....if it truelly is to be slim and healthier then let the wind of that make you so very very strong that you won't eat.

Food will be there when you have finished the diet but then it will be on your terms, you know that you are "comfort" eating as you are on your own so you don't need to analyse yourself, you just need to accept that being on your own is sometimes a bit lonely but change that to mean when you are alone it allows you to do what you want, just make sure that it is good things like relaxing, having a bath and having some me time....

You can do this diet, you know you can and you know if you eat then suddenly it gets very hard and you will just beat yourself up...so gain strength from your abstinance tonight and every day you are on the diet is a day less before you finish it.

And remember to keep positive....enjoy the diet as it is your choice to be slim and you have made that choice so time to live that dream....

NOW GO FOR IT!

YAY!!!!! Made it through day five without eating!! WOOHOO!!! *jumps up and down like a loon*
Now on day 6!!! I can't believe i've made it through nearly a week without eating!! I don't think i'll find tonight as difficult as i managed to get through last night without eating so i can do it again tonight.
Thanks everyone for the encouraging words and support. *hugs*

Well done for getting through last night - now you know it can be done!:)

I know how you feel as my husband works evenings all the time and I was a total comfort eater before cd. My whole evening would revolve around eating rubbish!

It took a few weeks for me to adjust to a new way of dealing with my evenings. At first i was like "omg, what i am going to do all evening now?!" but night by night i began finding other things to do and occupy my mind rather than just thinking about which biscuit or chocolate bar i would have next!

You did it.......... and its worth the struggle..... your one step closer to your goal weight.... each little hurdle crossed is a step in the right direction. And you can learn from each little thing you come across..... Keep it up soon be one whole week.....:bliss:
(shopping is another good one to take your mind of it, even if it is just window shopping internet style...)

I don't think i'll struggle as much tonight. I know if i grit my teeth and focus on what i REALLY want long term then i can get through it. :) I don't want to let food rule my life anymore. I'm sick of being miserable because i'm fat and eating because i'm miserable.......
It time to take control back, even though i now realise that i actually had control all along, its just that it was easier not to bother. :(

Wednesday evening. I couldn't get to see my CDC any earlier so by the time i way in it will be my 9th day, so am hoping for a big loss. Fingers crossed anyway. x
