Aww bless you Chezzie - Wends would give me the shirt off her back, she is a truly loving and generous soul, I'm lucky to have her in my life :)

That's very exciting, Susie! What part of France will you look at? :) xx

A few areas, Tracy - I like the Limousin and it's cheaper than most areas, also the Loire is lovely - but been looking around Poitou-Charente as well - and oh boy I have fallen in love! Check this beauty out, what a kitchen!

3 bedroom village house for sale in Poitou-Charentes, Deux-Sèvres, Mairé-Levescault, France

Heard back from the seller this morning - English lady in her 80s, her hubby bought it for them to retire to but he died (sad) so she's back in the Uk because it's too big for her. It's in a small village but with neighbours, a big supermarket and lots more shops a km away. Sounds promising!

Up early today, cup of tea, then back to bed - as Pop Larkin would say - perfick! :D

B - 3 egg omelette with mushrooms, herbs and HEA cheese, tea (milk synned)
L - the hamburgers I didn't make last night, with lettuce wraps and tomato
D - chicken korma :)
S - fruit

No honey that's the asking price :D. She wants offers over E80K but it has been on for a while so I'm sure there's a deal to be made.

There are literally thousands of houses for sale in France under £100K that need no work done - so it's a pretty good location for a mortgage free life :D

Crikey, I didn't realise it was so affordable to buy over there. Not that I'd ever leave the UK, unless I could take my entire extended family with me, lol. Paul would though, he'd be off in a flash! :D xx

Did she take the chicken off the heat before adding the yogurt? It does curdle so sounds like that may have been the problem.
...

Sooooooo the big decision is - I think I'm actually going to buy in France and not Italy! I started looking in France years ago but prices were too high then, so I then started looking in Italy - which has lots and lots of things going for it, but essentially I love the French way of life more - plus I love the houses (think old oak staircases, French doors, walled gardens, panelling), I can speak French (bit of a plus) and as Wendy pointed out, if I got sick and needed fetching, she can get to me in 6-8 hours (bless her).

I feel great, having made a decision about it :D

She did say looked great until yogurt stage?!

Sounds very exciting and the house looks fab and soo cheap! Will have to get practicing my French for our WEMITT meet up at your new pad :8855:my Italian is better but reckon I could order bread, cheese & wine in school girl French!

OMG absolutely!!! :D

LOL Tracy - I know it's not for everyone but I don't have family in the UK so there's no ties there - and as i don't want to go back to NZ, it seems like a good option :)

Having a very lazy afternoon - didn't make the hamburgers (yep, that lazy), just grazing on leftovers and fighting the urge to have a nap...

Had a nap :D And even inspired myself to make the hamburgers - yum!!!!!

I added a good squish of tomato puree and garlic and herbs and oh yummy! Add some SW chips (made with synned oil in the airfryer - a million times better than Frylight) and it was smashing! :)

Oooh France. It always helps already being able to speak the language :D

No idea why you wouldn't want to go back to NZ? It looks beautiful! I'm still holding out hope that Shaun wants to move back to Austrailia (so I can go with him obvs...)

LOL sounds like a nice plan Stackie! :) I do love NZ - but it's SO far away from everything, and it's hugely expensive (as is Australia, by the way) - cost of living, house prices, cars, everything - so, no, it's not for me. But I do feel more and more happy about the France idea - might go over at Easter and have a nose around. I'm still going to Italy at the end of April - the airfare is non refundable, so I may as well go and have a little holiday :).

Morning all

A quick WI this morning makes me think the second helping of hamburger and chips last night will affect my official SW WI tonight - so will be very happy if I just lose a pound and make the 1 1/2 stone mark!

B - overnight oats with cinnamon, coffee (HEA milk, yog 1/2)
L - chicken and salad (dressing - 2)
D - chicken korma and rice (yog 1/2)
S - banana

Have a good day, lovelies, and I'll report in later xxx

My first gain, 1 1/2 lbs - and when I looked back at what I'd eaten (and not written down!), then I wasn't in the least surprised! Chocolate, biscuits, cheese, bread...oh dear!

Plus I haven't been having veg with my evening meals, overate seriously on at least two occasions and went way over my syns - so it is nose to the grindstone this week and a much better focus! :D

It's just jelly weight until next week :) you'll get that pesky gain off at the next WI. Plus I'm looking forward to seeing all the yummy meals you're going to cook :-D

Morning all

I think the gain was particularly about the weekend's indulgences, and I had a BIG meal on Sunday night (day before WI, not going to make that mistake again).
I weighed this morning and I'm down again.

So, the plan is to -
- eat LOTS more veg, and with my evening meal too - am going to make up my green soup every week and have some of that before lunch and dinner, just to make sure!
- reduce my syns from 25 to 10 - I can't cope with the bigger number and just go overboard!
- write everything down (yes I know Stackie, rule number 1 :D) - even the stuff i don't want to admit to...
- try and get on the vibroplate every night for 5 minutes
- re-read my SW book!

Food today -
B - eggy noodly spinach surprise :) and tea and coffee with milk (2.5)
L - green soup (spinach, peas, fennel, celery, romaine lettuce, veg stock); ham salad with l/f red pepper dressing (2)
D - green soup; chicken pasta bake with broccoli (HEA cheese and HEB breadcrumbs)
S - lemon juice in hot water, HiFi bar x2 (6)

How does that sound, more experienced SWers?

Looks good to me. The green soup sounds yummy. Might have to try that.

It's tricky with the extra Syns as I know a few times I thought no need to count I've got loads & went OTT but us bigger ladies need a few extra especially at beginning I tried to use mine on good things eg extra nuts / cereal bars / wholemeal bread. Otherwise you run the risk of stalling things later by over deprivation now.

Thank you for your lovely post on my diary. Am hanging on to willpower as much as I can! Am going to go into work for a training session this lunchtime just to be distracted from bloody food!

I second this. Like today, perhaps another serving of cheese on your dinner? Another HEA worth would be 5.5 syns (if I remember correctly) same for a few extra breadcrumbs - 11 syns without eating anything 'extra' and therefore going overboard. Or maybe a little bread with the soup?
