Team 50 - Christmas 2022

I left it 2 weeks to weigh in again and unfortunately this morning I am still 16st 3lbs. This is my 6th week at the same weight and I’m really using all my tools and supports to try to stay motivated. I know the scales will eventually move down if I just keep going…
You have a great attitude it will move down have you tried measurements they scales sometimes don’t reflect measurements! It’s so frustrating losing weight but persevere and it will move! 😃

I am in the same boat as you frantically rowing but going nowhere fast. My plateau now has been 10 weeks, good for maintenance practice but certainly frustrating. At sw they suggested I wasn't eating enough. So the last couple of days been endeavouring to eat more. I have had a home made cup of curried parsnip soup for lunch something I wouldn't have normally eaten. I am finding it hard to get my head round eat more to lose more. I don't expect to see results this week as no been eating for a week yet so hope to see something next week.

Weigh in day today and I am relieved to say it’s a loss (pretty much what I gained last week plus half a pound so I will take it and be happy!) 1.8lb in total. I found myself very stressed about it yesterday which was silly but thinking it was in the context of having two high energylittle boys bouncing around 😂.
Nearing my goal but not sprinting to it it will move when it needs to so taking it week by week being strong and trying to not stress myself out as I will undo the progress I have made. I hope everyone is well.

@Bertie81 well done on your weight loss this week. It is good that you are aware of potential triggers that will stop you getting to your target.

I am a day late in reporting in but was a wee bit busy yesterday. It was frustratingly a STS still in the plateau. Had a word with the consultant of sw and she believes I am not eating enough. So for the last couple of days I have endeavoured to eat a little more. So now over the subsequent weeks we will see if this will break this plateau. I have upped my exercise and started to drink more fluid. So I am tackling it from several angles. I still feel motivated and positive. If nothing else this plateau shows me I am in good training for the maintainance phase where I failed miserably last time I seriously tackled losing weight

Hi there, long time lurker and searcher here but I don't think I have every posted. I would love to join the challenge.
Currently 14 stone 3 and doing slimming world (badly for a long time and properly rejoining next Saturday at my local class)/

Happy to report my 3 month plateau has eventually broke:woohoo: after I took the advise of consultant and ate a bit more. so most lunches been having a bowl of homemade soup. Really enjoyed the curried parsnip I made. I upped my fluid intake as well. Tried upping my exercise but got hit with a sjogren flare which hit all my joints for a few days so was like a woman of 90, But back to myself again now. I have lost 2lb this week and reached my lowest figure on the scales. I have also in the month lost an inch off my waist and heres me thinking my knicker elastic had gone in my new pack of knickers :rotflmao:

Hi everyone! Just joined as been reading through these forums for a while and this thread looks like just the motivation I need 😀

I've had alot of failed attempts at losing weight, takeaways are my weakness when I don't have time to cook! I lost 4 stone a couple year back, so I know I can do it!

Starting weight is 17 stone, got down to 14.10 in the first lock down, but eating out has come back in force 😅

My ideal weight would be 11 stone, but I'm going to make my first goal 50lbs just to keep it smaller and more manageable!

Starting tomorrow (I always say it, but I need to do it this time for a holiday in July!)

Good loss this week it’s been a hectic week work wise and been online tonight getting something sorted but pleased to say 3.6lbs off I think following my pattern of the past few months it may go up or stay the same next week but all the same lowest I have ever been since I can remember feels surreal and in total have just passed me 100lb loss which I can’t believe I feel shocked and delighted but measured as the true hard work for me and my mind is coming up! Keeping it off!

Welcome @Zoinator I too have lost a good chuck of weight namely 8 stone. But my maintenance phase I failed at miserably kept justify one naughty after another by the time you knew it I had spiralled out of all control.

So for me this time round I was comforted by the fact I had lost weight before, I knew I could do it again. This time I have approached it differently I did it alone last time but this time round I have joined SW online. So I use their forum and here for support. I have in 15 months relearned healthier eating habits. I still have my favourite foods. I do have to plan more than I did before and I have reduced meals out and take outs. Because they were getting out of hand. Now they are a treat I enjoy far more as I do not have them very often. I have in 15 month lost over 6 stone. Feel heaps better. come off blood pressure meds, reduced cholesterol tablets. I have far more energy. So many benefits along the way. I have life long health issues that I have to live with as no cure for MS or Sjogren's but overall feel generally so much better in myself and about myself.

At the beginning of my journey had 10 stone to lose which seemed so overwhelming. So I break it down into manageable chunks. Like next half stone, 10% body weight lost get bmi below 40,35 etc. I find any little milestone to keep me motivated. I am head for two at the minute bmi below 30 and to have my weight below 200lb. So close for both now. It is nice in small manageable chunks as you achieve these mini goals within a few weeks. My hubby has been by my side all through my journey eating what I cook and he has lost over 5 stone as well. So we have lost a person between us lol

Welcome @Jimmy055 to the challenge as @Bertie81 said great bunch of people who are all aiming to lose weight and we support each other through the ups and downs. I will add you to the challenge. just pop in how much you wish to lose for Christmas and whether you use kg or lbs. Then each week you copy and paste the last list of names altering your own weight accordingly.
