Team Spirit!!

Hi all. I'm really sorry but wanted to tell you all I'm leaving cd to give JUDDD a go. Had a lot of stress lately and can't seem to focus on sticking 100% to Cambridge. Sorry I'm leaving before our team has begun, I'm sure someone new will pop along. Good luck to you all xXx

Hi Team Spirit had a rough first day at work been really busy and on day 3 starving and with a headache o well xxxxxx How r u all doing? xx

Hi Donna, Sorry to hear you had a bad day - headache is probably just a side effect and will go away soon enough I'm sure. If I were you I'd just go to bed and draw a line under today! I'm OK, but had a few little cheats today - couple of my sons sweeties this afternoon, and a mouthful of roast potato from his dinner! Not enough to do any serious damage, but things I should definitely be steering clear from! Tomorrow is another day as they say!!

Yup tomorrow is another day it is difficult not to cheat isn't it but as long as it is a few nibbles and not a full on blow out you should be ok xx hubby had chinese tonight i was salavating and had to keep myself busy with the ironing !!! Another busy day tomorrow at least it keeps my mind off the diet xx just hope i'll have a good nights sleep xx speak tomorrow Tbag hope you have a good day x

Helooooo, the lovely Enough told me there was a space going in Team Spirit. Can I join? I know there aren't any competitions at the moment (though they would be SUCH a good motivator!) but it would just be nice to get be on a team and give/get support. Xx

Hi DollyBeth you are more than welcome to join Team spirit although at the mo I'm not sure if the team are spirits as it seem to be just me and Tbag posting so YES Welcome we need to help each other so feel free to join PLEASE! xxx It might help if we each post some info about goals, how much we want to lose, highs, lows ect xxxxxxxxxx

OK, great idea. I'll go first:

My main goal is to lose the baby weight I gained second time around, so to get down to 12 stone as a first goal, and hopefully do this by December 13th when I go to NY for Christmas. Would love to be able to go shopping and get myself some nice clothes! Then if I feel I can do more, I'd love to get down to 11.7.

I also have my brothers wedding next June and would like to be a toned size 12/14. I've put some money aside to get a personal trainer to help try and tone up my stomach, arms and thighs etc.

My weak point is in the evening, once the kids are in bed and I start getting bored. One thing that's good about this diet is that you realise when you overeat. Mine is either when I'm bored, or when I'm emotional (like when I had a row with hubby and was soooooo tempted to stuff my face)

I also find it hard not having a glass of vino in the evening!

How about you ladies??

Great thanks Tbag!

Well here i go...........
I have always been a yo yo dieter since my early teens, my mum was always on a diet and I seem to have followed in her footsteps, strange though when i look back at photos i wasn't at all big then just what you'd call normal I suppose. Anyway after getting married to a great cook and having 2 kids over the years i have just piled on the pounds without even realising it!!! My lowest point was when my 5 year old sons friend asked my why I was fat! I was devestated and decided i needed to take a good look at myself and i did not like what i saw not only was i overweight but i was in the obese category and looked tired, old and unhappy and just didn't recognise myself i was so busy looking after everyone else i'd forgoten to look after me! I am now on my journey to find me again and although my emotions are everywhere most of the time on this diet i feel good and in control for the first time in a long time! My weakness is like you Tbag evenings especially if my hubby is working, food had become a comfort but also a habit and it's difficult to break the habit!
My goal is 9stone 7lbs as i was happy when i was this weight when i was at Uni but I am hoping to get lower than this but taking one step at a time xx

Hi Ladies! We may be only 3 but we will have the BEST team!

I started CWP at the beginning of July after many failed attempts at weight watchers. I've always been huge, even as a kid, but in the past five years I've put on a stone a year and got to 21 stone. I thought something had to give, and I know I can't be trusted around food. So, CWP seemed a good idea. I found it very tough at first, and in the first two weeks I cheated with food out of necessity - making sure I ate protein and small amounts of green veg. Then I started cheating with bad things like crumpets, and then had a day of crisps and choc binging. I felt really bad, that was a definite low for me. That week I still lost 3lbs, but now I just want to focus on doing the diet properly so I can be confident with each weigh-in, and not having my fingers crossed. That's the good thing about this diet, is you definitely lose weight every week. Unlike weight watchers where everyone claps if you lose half a pound and they say, its good you LOST. I want to REALLY lose!

Not that WW is really bad, just didn't work for me as on my weigh-in day I would cheat, and probably cheat a bit more at the weekend, and hope for the best. Anyway, my goal is to lose 7 stone by Xmas, which sounds like a lot. But I have got more than half my body weight to lose, so it will probably go quickly at first. If I can lose 4lbs a week it should be achievable. I hope to be at goal weight by March 2013, and I've said my goal is 10 stone, but I would love to be 9 stone 7lbs like some friends of mine that are the same height.

As far as low points as a fat person in my life, there have been many. Recently I have been trying to get a job and it has been horrible to get shortlisted a lot and then see the interviewer's shocked face when I arrive. It might just be my paranoia but I've had some interviews that seemed suspiciously short. Blodyn, I know how you must have felt when your son's friend made that comment. I used to work as a teaching assistant in a reception class, and even though the kids were only 4 years old, their comments still hurt. Because kids are uncensored you know its what adults are thinking too, but are too polite to say. One little girl asked me where my baby was, and when I said I didn't have one, she said oh, is it that you've just eaten too much food? I can laugh about it now, but at the time I wanted to die, especially as she said it in front of the teacher and some other helpers.

Tbag I'm so jealous you are going to NYC! You will have the best Xmas! That must be a real motivator for you. Maybe in the evenings when you're thinking of eating you can watch films based in NYC and imagine yourself there looking amazing at your first big goal. For me, things that have helped are sparkling water, and frozen ready-shakes - pretending I have some frozen yoghurt and a glass of pop. Lucky you, having a personal trainer, that would be amazing! I'm doing a pilates DVD which has really helped with toning, not that I can see it yet under all the fat, but I can feel more toned, and thats all that matters just at the moment.

We can do this ladies! When do you both have your weigh in? Mine is usually Wednesday but has been changed to Thurs this week.

Totally agree 3 is a good number DollyBeth by the way I'm Donna and it's lovely to hear both your stories, we need each other on this journey , i find this forum helps me when i think of reaching for the biscuit tin LOL! So come on girls we can do it!!!!
I've had a really busy day today and just managed to get home in time to pick up our new puppy to take to the vet for his 2nd jab before coming home to clear up after tea, hoovering, helping with homework and mopping downstairs, it's true a womans work is never done i have just put a wash on put the kids to bed and sat down with a cup of lovely tea and a quick look at the forum! Hubby just off to work he is a police officer and is working nights this week and evenings like this used to be my downfall and they are still a bit difficult!!! chocolate and crisps are my weakness and having kids its difficult not to have these temptations in the house!
I know what you mean about keeping fingers crossed that is exactly what i'll be doing this week as i had a planned evening out on Sunday however instead of meat and salad i had a chinese banquet!!!! I know I know very bad but it was hubbys birthday and that was what he wanted and he has been so supportive i couldn't say no, i was up all night feeling sick as my stomach was in shock i think!!!!! My weigh in is Thursday or Friday evening and it is Thursday this week although i'm tempted to change it to sat morning to give me a couple of extra days to lose ha LOL! I'm aiming to get to 10st10lbs by Christmas but hoping that i will lose more fingers crossed girls.
I would love a personal trainer Tbag , i have a treadmill and try to walk not run as i'd have black eyes LOL! every day but i need to do some toning but not sure what to do any tips xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi lovely ladies!

My weigh in is tomorrow at 10am - I am pooping myself after my day off on saturday, and the 6, yes 6 glasses of red wine!!

Have tried to ss or at least ss+ for the last 48 hours instead of my usual 810 to override the saturday, and managed to get to the gym today for the first time in 11 months, so fingers crossed.

Will report in tomorrow lunchtime

Good luck for weigh in Tbag! Don't worry about the wine, its in the past now, and i'm sure you had a bloody good time. After six glasses I would be on the floor! (or dancing on a table...)

Donna, at least your evening off was planned, so don't feel bad. We all need a break. That day I was binging on junk food was very unplanned so it played havoc with my emotions. But also, the next day I felt so hungover! I hadn't touched a drop of alcohol, but it just goes to show how much salt and rubbish is in junk food if it made me so dehydrated. Did you feel okay the day after your Chinese? Soooo cute you have a puppy! What breed? Your schedule sounds hectic, you will be burning calories for sure! The treadmill will be great as well, as people don't realise that fast walking is not just cardio, its also very toning for your hips, thighs and bum. I really recommend Darcey Bussell's pilates DVD, you can buy it on Amazon. Its very gentle and relaxing, but works the core muscles and you really feel it. But you can get lots of free pilates and yoga videos in YouTube as well. Try Pop Pilates, they have little ten minute films you can fit into your day.

Are you both housewives or do you have to balance the diet with jobs?

Not too bad: -2.5lb :)

Thanks for the info on pilates Dollybird - I keep meaning to give it a try. I had my second baby 5 months ago so my core is in a terrible state, I really need to work on it. I'll have to give the freebie videos on youtube a go I think.

I'm currently on maternity leave - go back to work full time in January. I work in advertising for a media agency, very superficial, but I like it.

So it's my 5th wedding anniversary on Friday, so unfortunately I'm having to take another day off plan. Just like you Donna, my husband is trying to be really supportive, so I don't want to ruin the evening by being boring and saying we can't enjoy a meal out. But I've looked at the menu already and discussed it with my CDC and I'm having seared scallops to start, and chicken with puy lentils for main course. (what I really wanted was the roasted peaches wrapped in parma ham and stuffed with goats cheese, and the fillet steak with duphanoise potatoes!! ;-). But I'm going to drive, don't ever want to have a hangover as bad as I did on Sunday!

Going to try and do SS+ for the next 2 days, and going to the gym again tonight, so hopefully I can minimise damage. I HAVE to lose 1.5lb next week to get my stone. I'll be so disappointed with myself if I don't.

Well done Tbag! That's great and you WILL get to your stone next week! I really admire you for getting the menu and planning ahead, as it would be so easy to say sod it and take the night off. I salute you Team Spiriter!

I lost 5lbs this week (don't forget I'm way heavier!) so thats really helped set me on my way to my 7 stone Xmas goal. Feel really good to have lost 11 and a half lbs in 2 weeks, and it just goes to show how being strict and staying in ketosis can make a huge difference to someone so huge!

Tbag, it cracked me up you called me dollybird! ha ha! Maybe I will become one at the end! Your job sounds really interesting, maybe it will get a lot easier for you once you are back at work. But in the mean time you can use the time not at work to do some toning up and walking. Thats what I'm doing, and job-hunting of course.....Did you both read the article in the Daily Mail yesterday about Tess from Essex who lost 4 stone in 3 months on CWP? Thinspiration! I wonder how much money people get paid to sell their story?

Hi Ladies didn't post last night as i was sewing ALL NIGHT i made a homemade monkey suit for my son to be one of the Twits Monkey for Roald Dahl Day today nightmare i am not very good with that type of thing but he was pleased anyway!!
WELL DONE both of you on your losses this week i was meant to get weighed tonight but have only just got home from work so have rearanged for sat morning will give me an extra day to un-do the damage of Sunday!!! I was up all night feeling sick after the chinese so i will be following you Tbag and planning better my next evening off I still feel a bit bloated!
Dollybeth my puppy is a shoodle he is lovely and can't wait to take him on his first walk next week it will be an incentive for me to do a bit more walking. Haven't done much excercise this week as been hectic at work i am a headteacher Dollybeth . Thank for the info re pilates i will defo be looking at the youtube videos to see if i like it xx Didn't see The Daily Mail i never buy a newspaper, we should sell them a story on Team Spirit once we have got to our goals ha ha !!
Tbag i admire you doing CD with a small baby and Happy Anniversary!! I have been married 12 years this October and that day was the last time i wore a dress!!!
What u 2 up to today girls i'm having an early night tonight hubby working at 10 so will get a good nights sleep with no snoring LOL xx

Evening ladies! Firstly - DollyBETH - I am so sorry I called you dollybird, I really hope I didn't offend you! My bad not re-reading the post before I pressed enter!

Secondly - well done on your amazing weight loss this week - awesome! You must be really chuffed and really spurred on to stick with it.

I've been at work all day today on one of my keeping in touch days. Have to say it was great to have a day to use my brain again properly, and not think about weaning, or nappies etc. And more than anything, I had no time at all to think about FOOD!! When I'm at home making my 3 year old his dinner and sandwiches at lunchtime it's all I can do NOT to take a massive bite out of his cheese sandwich, or pinch a piece of sausage from his dinner. At least at work I wasn't tempted at all, and managed to have my shakes discreetly (I took two tetras in)

Donna - how has the first week back at work been for you? Love the sound of your sons costume, I'm dreading when my kids get to that age and I have to be creative!

I did read the article about the girl who lost the weight and there was a thread on here about it too. Donna if you go to the daily mail website you can search for the article, that's what I did. Something about looking like her dog inspired her to lose weight!! (Bit odd!)

Love the idea of doing a team article, that would be hilarious!

Righto, having my small meal now, chicken and broccoli, then last shake and early night. My little one has a cold and was up 3 times last night so need to catch up on some sleep. Fingers crossed she sleeps through tonight!

Take care

First week back was ok it's this week that i am finding it hard getting back into the swing of things lots of meetings this week and running around from one place to another find shakes really handy when i'm working as i'm too busy to think about food it's the evenings that i still find really difficult xx

Hi!

Just wondered if i'm able to join this team please???
I've been looking through the forums for nearly 2 weeks but really need somewhere to come, chat and get some advice!

Hi Camilan! Welcome! Of course you can join us. I think its 6 maximum for each team, and at the moment there are only three of us! I'm quite new myself, so not really sure how it all works. But I read a thread about the team rules on the team page. Well done for losing 11lbs in your first week! That's great! We were talking about mini-goals the other day, is there anywhere you want to be? I'm aiming for 7 stone loss by Xmas (and finish the rest in the new year after a wee xmas break!)

Donna, are you a primary or secondary head? You must be so bloody busy! But as Tbag says, you can take in your tetras and swig them on the quiet. Not that you have to do it in secret, its up to you. When I went to the pub at the weekend I had a tetra in the loo as I was with a big group of people, and although my friends know, I didn't want to explain myself to the friends of friends that I had never met before. I thought, is this whats its come to, me having my lunch in 30 seconds flat in the loo whilst everyone else has a burger fresh from the pub garden grill?! I was happy though, I wouldn't socialise if I wasn't.

Tbag, I know what you mean about cooking for other people. I've done that a few times and been so tempted to lick a spoon or even my finger if I get some ingredients on it. Its just habit I think. But I made roasted vegetables and potato wedges for my family the other day and it smelt amazing. I just wanted to get a big old fork and dive in to the lovely olive-oil and rosemary stodginess! I resisted though!! In the evenings I just try and have a lot of hot drinks. My top three are green tea, peppermint tea and spearmint tea.
