The Minimins Running Team - Runaholics Anonymous

Just got my race time back!

1hr 1min 7secs!!!

I'm stunned! Beat my best by over 1 minute! Fantastic didn't think that would happen at all =D

Well done you!
I ran/jogged/shuffled 9.47k in 107 minutes, it's a bit OMG how slow! However it's my furthest distance and I ran pretty much all the way with just minimal stopping for water and sneaky change out of my running top so I only had on my gilet. I'm super pleased with myself as 10k is just around the corner and I've 8 weeks to speed up.

image.jpgIt was sooo hot today luckily my hoody doesn't retain heat so I was okay, just my face that got a bit scorched!!! Legs started to die at 7k but thank god I didn't stop as I was determined not to!

Nothing wrong with stopping or being slower!! We all finish in a comfortable pace so don't push too fast too quickly as it'll only set you back. Really hope you get a personal best as it's such an amazing feeling!! :) :) :)

My next run us tomorrow, I've asked my buddy if we can attempt 10k again so we shall see, definitely doing 4 miles minimum though!

I'm looking forward to going out again! I just want a couple days break, I think I'll stick to 5k on Friday and do a long run next week instead.

It won't be long before you're in the mindset I get into, where you get to 4 miles and think 'ahhh screw it, I can do 2 miles more!!' That's the sign of a mad woman!! :D

I've just set up my fundraising page for the 25k. Everyone who donates multiples of £10 get to pick two songs we have to listen to...my parents get to pick 4 songs and their choices so far are brutal!

YMCA and Puppy Love. They're so cruel lol

I'm probably going to go running again on Thursday after work, it's a struggle fitting it all in sometimes!! Kettlebells and metafit class tomorrow so hopefully I'll get out Thursday and then possibly Saturday for a short run and Sunday for a longer one.

5.25 miles in 54 mins today, over 10 mins faster than when we did it on New Year's Eve!

Also did our fastest mile in 9.44. Feeling smug :)

So jealous of you all getting out I've been signed off since my bike accident last week. Fingers crossed I can get out for a short jog at the weekend to ease myself back in slowly

Haha don't blame you for feeling smug Lucy it's a run like that which keeps you motivated!! And only by running more does it improve further and further! :)

Just went a did a little 3 mile run, first time I've been it since the race. Surprised at a level good pace of 9min 54secs a mile.

Heading on out first thing tomorrow morning on a 6 mile run...maybe more! I'm all stretched out now so hopefully easier to carry on. Felt quite heavy and slow today, blaming the heat I'm used to high winds pushing me along!! :D love that spring is around the corner though, means more running for us all huh?!! :D

6miles in 61.38 mins and then my phone battery died! We did about another .25mile and then walked the rest as I was so crampy after tues 5miles!

Hi guys would it be okay if I joined you? I'm not new to running but have never really run very far or very fast, been doing regular 5ks on and off for 3 years now and my PB is slow at 31.19! Furthest distance is 8k but have only done it once and it took me nearly an hour.

I have booked myself in for a 10k in June, so currently trying to build up my speed and distance, currently at the heaviest I've been whilst running so hoping that I will go further / faster once as the pounds come off!

Looks like you are all doing so well! Any tips? Good luck with your goals :)

Hi clareel!!! My best 5k is only about three minutes faster so don't worry...still an awesome time!

My advice is get out there every other day or every three days, builds up stamina and endurance. Also have you ever tried fartleks before?? Running for three minutes, walk for 60secs, run again for 5 minutes etc etc. means taking a stopwatch but it's fantastic for not only burning fat (running at same pace will not burn fat very quickly) but also within a week or two you'll notice your speed and endurance shoot up :) :)

You'll ace that 10k with lots of practise!! Took me ages to break into running past 5k. Can now do 10 miles at a slow pace...took about two hours lol

Great tips and motivation on this thread loving it!! I'm
Managing 5k in about 32/33 mins ish. So hoping I can gradually increase distance or speed up lol

Just remember...little and often, be patient and you'll notice the distance and speed increase happens as if from nowhere!!

On top of the three miles I ran yesterday, I walked 1 1/2 miles this morning and just got back from a 6 mile run. I. Am. Done. Lol!! =)

First 5K done in weeks felt really comfy up to the 4K mark - it's quite a hilly route so I'm hoping on on a flatter course for it to be somewhat easier.

My time was 39 mins which is way slower than my best 3 years ago but hope to be able to improve it by May

Go you! That's a fantastic weekend of exercise.
