Im in a very reflective mood at the minute, earlier in the week my mum had a heart attack ok shes 71 but otherwise shes in good health, healthy eater and good weight ( only 9stone ). Anyhow she used to be quite big when she was younger and its made me wonder whether there is truth in the saying that you store things up for the future. To be fair it should be me in that bed im the one who is 7 stone overweight and if this doesnt shock me into doing something i dont know what will.

Anyway i was thinking of setting up a facebook blog to try and keep me on track, posting diary pieces and pics of food etc Does anyone think its a good idea

My dad had a heart attack whilst I was on holiday, he's been an alcholic, smoked all his life & never been overweight. He's only 66. But he's now given up smoking & only drinks in moderation now & fortunately he's doing very well.

It made me realise how I need to continually look after my body, I'm hoping to be having it for a long time yet;).

Yes start a blog it can't do any harm I also think it helps to write things down.

So how is your mum now?

I gave up smoking after 12 years last october and i do wonder whether all those ciggies will comeback and haunt me at some point. I really hope not but one can never be sure. I gave up for many reason one of them being health. Also my partner is quitting soon to so yay :D

Also i hope your mother is doing ok
