Tinned grapefruit

I wondered if anyone knows why tinned grapefruit isnt free if you dont have any of the juice its in? I know with things like pears and peaches its because you normally eat the skin therefore there is a higher fibre content but for grapefruit you dont eat the skin anyway? I always rinse the fruit in water to make sure I dont have any of the juice aswell. Just wondered if anyone knows the reasoning for it being syned? Thank you

Maybe its something to do with the canning process. It's very high heat and can destroy some nutrients? There may also be other preservatives added even if they are canned in their own juice.

I looked online and the general consensus is that fresh is best generally but that tinned is a good second. So the answer is....no idea
