My top tips are:
1. Plan. Plan, plan, plan! I do a weekly meal planner, for breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Doing this means I can make sure I have a variety of different foods and meals throughout the week so I know I won't get bored. If I didn't do this, it would mean I would more than likely have jacket potatoes and beans on toast a LOT! It also means I can make a list of what to shop for and not buy stuff I won't end up using.
2. If you like choc, wine, treats etc, then make your meals as syn-free as possible to save your syns for these. If you aren't bothered about treats, use your syns in your cooking for oil, butter, etc.
3. Take photos so you can see your progress. I've just put mine together to show my weightloss journey and am flabbergasted at the change! A great incentive.
4. Experiment with recipes. I really enjoy cooking now and try lots of different SW recipes from the magazine and website as well as the books. All the family are enjoying trying the results! We don't have the same meals week in, week out and it keeps me interested in the plan.
I'm sure there will be loads more suggestions, but these are the main things that have helped me along. Those and a huge dose of willpower!
