Totally Demotivated :(

    :cry:I am well and truley demotivated - i started SW last Monday, lost 1lb and have sneaked on the scales to find i am back to what i was. I have not cheated whatsoever , but my Mum keeps saying there is no way SW will work and that it's not possible to eat as much as i do and lose weight..........
    I really thought the weight would be going down a tiny biy...i know its only been 10 days but i used to eat crisps, juice and choc every day!! and have cut it completely out!
    Sorry bout the moan but i am not feeling at all good about myself at all and am looking for some help with this........

    can't stick to just one!
    please dont feel demotivated. stick at it. You seem to be a healthy weight anyway for your height according to your stats so it might take a little longer to start losing things and for your body to accustom to the food changes. Keep your chin up. hugs x

    NEVER weigh yourself more than once a week. Your weight naturally fluctuates throughout the day and the week due to a massive variety of reasons, and spontaneous weigh-ins outside of your regular timeslot just... surprise... work to de-motivate you because you happen to have drunk some water within the past couple of hours, because you've not had a poop yet, because you're wearing different clothes, because the atmospheric pressure is different, because your scales aren't calibrated the same as those at SW, and 100 other possible problems.

    Same scales, same time, same day, every week. No more often than that.

    Tell your mother that she can either support your weight loss or leave you the heck alone.

    Thanks Guys, it's so tempting, but i am now leaving those god damn scales alone! lol
    I am not attending classes, doing it on my own, but i have set the scales on the same spot and not moving (or going near) them till Monday

    do you want to weigh in together caroline?
    I could really do with a specific 'buddy' to spur me on? I am bridesmaid for my friends wedding 10wks 2moro and with xmas in between as well! i am feeling so de-motivated for some reason and can't stop stuffing myself. so am going to weigh tomorrow and try and be v v good and try and kick start some weight loss

    usually Monday but i'm happy to change to Thu :) been ill all weekend so wont be at work tmrw to weigh in, so im gonna set my scales up in my house and do it Thu,,sound good?

    yeah thats great! what is your goal for say xmas eve (a thurs) and i think its 7 weeks away. I have a week away at uni and a couple of social events between then and now. I just want to get back in the 11's to start with and then focus on getting to the 10's , maybe after xmas. i just dont want to gain it all over xmas - thats what i really really fear- especially as the wedding is the 16th jan. what are we aiming for for thurs? 1lb, 2lb?

    Well, i think im aiming to lose around 10lb for Xmas, i'm hoping to have lost 2lb this week as i have been ill and bearly ate anything! i think its realistic for us.?
    i also have a few social events but have checked the menus out already and its looking good,,,so just need to save for the alcohol :D not much tho as im not much of a drinker. my big goal is for my 30th 9th of Feb...oh the 16th of Jan, is my sisters B/day!! :D

    Ok that's great then. i have also started my own blog in the diaries section in the hope that publishing my days intake to the world will make me think before i stuff myself!
    not holding out much hope this week, looks like i will gain :-( boo but it is my own fault. may make the effort to go to the gym tomoro in a one last ditch attempt for thurs to at least sts

    Caroline, don't be dismayed when you gain a little weight next week. It's totally normal after the rapid weight loss of a few days' illness for you to put a little back on as you recover. Just be prepared for it, know it's coming, and understand it's okay :)

    WELL DONE!!! ITS A LOSS NO MATTER WHAT! AND CLOSER TO YOUR TARGET!
    I lost 5lb!!! i cant believe it! i know its due to illness tho and as crazy brit said, i will prob put 2lb of it back on, but hey lets go for it this week :D

    And, sure, if you gain 2lbs next week that's still a net loss of 1.5lbs per week across the two ;)

    that's fab/ i'm just going to aim for another lb. i get so demotivated if i say like 3lb and then only get 2.5 so i'm just going to keep my weekly targets small xx good luck for next thurs

    I stayed the same, which i am pleased with considering i have been really naughty getting my appetite back after my flu!!! hope it doesnt all pile on next week :(
