I am getting very dispondent again I have been good all week but I really don't think these tablets are working for me I am actually pretty constipated and have been for a while now I never had a problem like this before the tablets I thought if anything it was suppose to be the other way I am on my third week now and after an initial good weight loss which I am putting down to my drastic diet change I think I have stalled I dont seem to have lost anything this week although my scales are rubbish and I am getting weighed properly tomorrow. Has anyone else suffered with constipation and what can I do ????

I know this isn't the nicest topic to talk about (lol), but I was the opposite when I first started taking the tablets. I was 'going' every time I went for a pee, up to 8 times a day for the first week or so, then it settled down. I've had a few constipated phases, they only last a couple of days at a time, and I usually cure it by drinking loads of fruit juice.

I still have days where I think the tablets aren't working for me as well, but I'm sticking with it. I'd wait and see what happens in the first three months, and if you haven't lost 5% of your weight by then, the doctor will probably tell you to stop taking them anyway. Try and stay positive though, if you stick to the rules 100% and don't have a significant weight loss in three months, maybe you're better off with a different method of weight loss. Maybe your body is just losing weight really slowly, which is better for you anyway as you're more likely to keep it off. Try not to be disheartened, we're all here supporting you. Let us know what happens! :) x

I would have to agree, don't give up just yet, I too have bouts of constipation and feel thoroughly miserable, I'm at the end of my 3rd week today. I have no idea how much I've lost as I have no scales but as I'm feeling more healthier for the diet change and clothes are looser I'm good. I would really try not to weigh yourself, I know its hard but we all lose weight at different rates and depending on our hormonal state and as has been said before the slower it goes off the more likely it is to stay off. Be positive and keep going, your doing a grand job.

Hi ALl Thank you all so much for your word it really means a lot to me and does keep me motivated. I get weighed at the gym I go to which I was gp referred at the same time i started xenical and I went yesterday and even though I felt heavy diue to the constipation i had actually lost another 4 pound this week so it gave me a real boost I am still not sure if its the tablets or ust me being super good but I am going to continue with it. Got some diet advice as well form my one on one trainer i get and shesuggested more fruit and veg ( obvious really) so I am upping that as well and she did point out that my diet is really low fat so the tablets wont seem to be working which is a fair point they can only attack the fat you put into your body and I am not putting much in at all. So having a diet rethink this week adding more whole grain and fibre and fruit and veg and going to see what happens. What a roller coaster journery this is and its only been a few weeks !! Thank god for this site x x
