What diet are people choosing to loose a lot of weight?

Hi!
I am on (my second) 10 week programme of something called 'Diet Direction', where each week has a different challenge so it never gets boring and I weigh in with my consultant once a week.
It's definately about lifestyle change though.
For example, I have to photo everything that goes into my mouth, which I find really fun!
Week 1's challenge was to drink my 8 glasses of water a day, week 2 was 20 minute exercise a day, week 3 was high protein .... and so on.
It is just common sense really, but it's working for me :)
