I remember being about 15 and my mum had really bad flu. Whilst she was upstairs suffering away I decided that I would try and cheer her up and make her favourite; chocolate raisins.
I found a large jar of nutella and put a massive dollop in a plastic dish and put it in the microwave - put the timer on 5 minutes - thinking that as it is quite thick it will take a bit of time. I got the raisins ready. The microwave when ping and I went to get out what I hoped was delicious running chocolate but I opened the door to a burnt chocolate covering the inside of the microwave and the pot had melted to the spinning plate.
Smoke came billowing from the microwave and before I knew it the smoke alarm was going off.
My sick mum came running down stairs to find me crying uncontrollably under the stairs and the kitch filled with smoke!!
