Why are cigarettes addictive?

Why is it hard to quit smoking, are cigarette sort of drugs? And can anyone tell me why smoking is considered cool

There is a new drug on the market my brother in law is going to try but its ment to be good but its about 800 pounds , his brother stopped smoking on it . I think less people smoke now , as you can't smoke anywhere now I think alot of people find it hard work by keep going outside to have a fag and in work places its a no no . so really its a dying out slowly !

They're made that way .... chemicals are put into them especially to keep you coming back for more and therefore keep their profits up!
