why do you have to bake mincemeat cous cous cake?

    Im confused when i make a mullerlight cous cous cake i can pop it in the microwave for 10mins.
    I want to make a mincemeat one and the only recipes i can find say bake it for 40 mins.
    why cant i microwave it!?

    Could it be because of the high sugar content of the mincemeat?

    Maybe because mincemeat gets really hot, really fast in the microwave, and as microwaves cook food from the inside out, it might make the cake explode or something!

    I make a weetabix cake with mincemeat and cook it in the microwave so I'm sure it will be ok.....give it a whirl!

    i made a chocolate orange one anyway couldnt be bothered to put the oven on just for that i'd be waiting forever....

    please can i have the recipe for the above cake

    Sure!!
    All I do is mush 2 weetabix biscuits (1 x HE B) in some boiled water. Be careful not to make it too 'wet'
    Sprinkle in some sweetener to your taste
    Add some mixed spice, again, to your own taste
    Mix in 1 or 2 tblsp of mincemeat (1 tblsp = 2 syns)
    Lastly, thoroughly mix in 1 egg.
    You should have what resembles a cake mixture.

    Bung in the microwave until cooked!(a few minutes, I just keep on checking)

    Tastes lovely, just like bread pudding.
