    Hey,

I am so concious on the treadmill when I'm running (HA I only run for like 2 or 3 mins at a time) but when I do I feel so unstable and all over the place I really have to concentrate on my feet or else I'd be on my bum on the floor. Does anyone else feel like this?

Also when I am running the reason I stop is because I am out of breath also cause my shins are giving my agony. I believe this could be caused by unsuitable footwear but I am clueless about running trainers. At the moment I wear normal trainers, with velcro.

There are no specialist shops in town for running shows afaik only places like jb sports and sports world or something.
I'd imagine they would sell that running trainers but I don't know how knowledgable the staff would be, most are teenagers.

    Any tips advice welcome!

Haha bless ya it does get easier but that pretty much describes me! I run on treadmill and what u do is best few mins run get out of breath, couple min walk then run again - it's interval training and best for fat burning. Any sports shop will do trainers for impact like aerobics and rubbing. I bought tubes k Swiss and they were 45 and are fine for running. You need a bit of spring in the sole and you don't get that from trainers with Velcro Hun and that will help with shins. I only know one person with proper running trainers and she does marathons and you have to run on a machine and they work out tons of techy stuff. Good luck xxxxx

You could always ask the trainers at the gym they would help you I'm sure!

yep i'm the same, it funny but if you can switch off a bit and keep going it gets easier. If you are getting out of breath, try slowing down a little bit (thats what the couch to 5k woman says)...distance not speed :)

Cant help with trainers, I have some nike's from the local shoe shop but I dont actually run in trainers on the treadmill...not sure if thats okay or not, but had a brief chat with a lady who is a pro and in her running mag says its quite popular. I'm a beginner by the way...LOL no pro runner here...put on a stone so can only think the running after the ice cream truck must stop! :)
