I have been on them and what they really do is educate you not to eat food which have a high fat content in them. They do not make you lose weight they just make you eat the right foods. If you eat too much fat you have the most awful cramps as a consequence , and many swift visits to the bathroom.

They are the same but they are a stronger dosage than Alli because you get them on prescription.

But they have some nasty side effect's - so be aware if you are thinking of taking them.

I have to say I never suffered with any bad side effects but thats because I dont eat food with lots of fat, I just eat too much food in general so I didnt feel the benefit.

I would recommend avoiding them all together. I took them and also followed the SW plan for a month...weight loss when going back to Dr's 1lb!!!
I suffered with the side effects which putting it nicely - you could end up taking shares out with Fairy Liquid washing up when you go to the loo. You cant cough, sneeze or even laugh without having to change your underwear, which you end up staining...not pleasant at all and you end up having to plan all your outings around the loo.

Oh that does not sound good Mrs V!
Let's face it, the result on SW are great so is there really any need for this? Just my opinion though but I don't like the sound of these.

You shouldnt get side effects as long as you stick to the low fat guideline of less than 5g fat per 100g.

I am on them and also sw, you just need to be careful with your hex and syns to make sure they are within the xenical rules.

Have a nosy at the xenical subforum and you can gather some more info to help you make an informed choice. Good luck

By then you should have learned about your eating habits and made the change for life. If you get bad side effects it means you have eaten too much fats and havent learned anything.

As I out in my post above...I followed SW to the letter, lost 1lb with them and still had the nasty side effects. A lot of people can take them and not suffer, but Hubby and my Mum had the same problem as me!

Xenical ARENT a diet pill, they dont lose the weight for you, all they basically do is help keep you on track and make sensible choices. You have to do them in tandem with a diet, not instead of.

I took them for ages and had no side effects at all but they didnt do anything for my weight loss, what they did do was stop me eating overly fatty foods because I was scared of the possible side effects. I think they work more as a deterrent than anything else
