Kindle Kick-Start Challenge - Jan

This group is been formed for people wanting to lose Weight and enjoy the social side of a group :)

We aim to give everyone positive feedback and support them all the way :)

I will be posting weekly weight loss tips and hints as well as inspirational quotes & music videos.


This will be a Month to Month group, So at the start of each month we will be running again :)

Will also be including Wii Fit Achievements and Contests! This is optional for anyone who wants to join in, But will include weekly updates on your Wii Time, Achievements within the game and group set Achievements!


Kindle Time - Tell us what book you are reading! And how your are enjoying or in fact not enjoying it.

Sign me up!! Not sure yet of how much I weigh or what I need to lose. Will be back in WW on Wed so will know then. This is going to be a good kick up the bum I need to dust off the Wii Fit and get cracking on some of those books I have meaning to read all year.

Mini Goals: get into the 170's again
Motivation: fit back in to all my nice clothes and have more self confidence
Strong Points: none atm - just need to get back into it!
Weaknesses: tendency to have chocolate binges
Wii Fit/Kindle: no wi fit but i have a kindle

Current Weight: 16st 4lbs (I think - boyfriend managed to break the scales a few weeks ago so im not sure)
Goal Weight: 9stone...in some far off distant point in the future lol
Mini Goals: To start to feel my clothes getting looser, to fit into clothes that fit me nicely a year ago when I was around 12 stone
Motivation: Arthritis in my knee, so must lose weight if I want to help myself. Want to look and feel better, to not be so self conscious, not get so red faced and out of breath so easily, to look better for my uni graduation
Strong Points: hmmmm not sure, feeling quite motivated at the mo
Weaknesses: FOOOOOOOD lol
Wii Fit/Kindle: No kindle (yet) but i have a wii

My name is Sharon,age 40 and I have just joined Slimming World on-line weighing in at a woppin 15 st 13 lb as of Friday 30 December. Have gone off plan tonight with the wine monster but apart from family dinner tomorrow nothing is going to stop me - this time!!my goal is to improve my health (have hypothyroidism) and feel better about myself. Have a wii fit which thinks it's just an ornament, no kindle but have the app on my iPad and am always stuck in a book!!

I would love to join you, was on Xenical until about 3 weeks ago but Dr is no longer able to prescribe it. Bad time to stop just before Xmas and I have put on 5lb in last 2 weeks so now it is time to do it for myself.

Wii Fit/Kindle: Have Wii Fit gathering dust/Kindle always attached to hand.

Weighed in this morning but will do it again on Thursday and make that my new weigh in day.

ok so my motivation is wavering already, found out today that my gym buddy is pregnant and plans to cancel their membership - i really struggle to go on my own.
and also I think Im getting flu - so craving stodge - not good for the 1/1/12!
 
take it easy since ur poorly, look back at ur motivation alex! i think if u convince urself to go to the gym for the first few times on ur own, it wont seem so bad and will then start to feel ok and more like habit :)
 
Hope you're feeling better soon Alex. I've had a greedy day today with big family get together but am planning on reining it in now and keeping off the vino which only gives me the munchies!

Weaknesses: Crisps and getting caught up in a good book!!!
Wii Fit/Kindle:Only got my Kindle for xmas and already finished 6 books just cant put it down. I do have a Wii fit which is gathering dust underneath the tv stand at the moment lol. I will be dusting it off asap though as my new years resolution is too work out 3 times a week its only baby steps but that way it won't be so easy to fail.
Looking forward to getting to know every one.
 
Don't know how I'm going to keep up with all these things I've posted on but what the heck!

Goal Weight: 140lb (may be lowered when near)
Mini Goals: Lose 28lb in January
Motivation: Be a healthy weight for the first time and stop my weight from hindering my future career.
Strong Points: Been good so far!
Weaknesses: Uni might be, and forgetting to eat.
Wii Fit/Kindle: Wii fit at home in Cheshire but I'm currently living in Swansea. No Kindle but lots of books (sadly mostly uni related).

Currently doing Slim and Save. Done Slimming World before but just lost it in my head. Chose to do S&S because I need to re-set my relationship with food and I know the only way I can do that is to take it out the equation for a while. My weigh day is Wednesday which I hope is ok. Did a sneaky weigh this morning and so far lost a whopping 10.5lb since I started on Wednesday.

Joined a local gym that opens on the 5th and hoping to start doing some weight training to go along with my slimming.

I have been on the wagon since last wednesday.. am doing a VLCD by myself.
It needs to be done as I have started at a whopping 189lbs :cry: and would like to be 130 ;)

I have a Wii and am going to be treating myself to a Kindle at the end of the month :) as a treat to myself!

How is everyone else doing?

I am doing sooooo crappy!! Really, really need to get my arse into gear and am contemplating a quick start with exante - have some shakes left from a previous failed attempt. Just need to stop thinking about food constantly and perhaps to lose half a stone quickly will encourage me to stick to a healthy slimming world plan.
Having a blood test tomorrow for my thyroid as am sure my meds are off which makes me feel really low and dr has signed me off with work related stress so not the best start to a new year. If I can get myself healthier then I know I will cope better.
Sorry for the moan but am gonna get there eventually xxx
 
keep pushing yourself and you will do great !! try not to be so down on yourself and try and focus on the positives, it sometimes helps me to list a few and keep it in my bag for when im down !!

Hi how is everyone doing? still ok? or have those nasty thoughts scuppered all the willpower?

I had a fabulous surprise when I was on the scales this morning 13 lovely pounds gone... never to be seen again!!!
I have had to really fight those bad thoughts but the benefit is that I am feeling SO happy... this is the longest that I have managed on the wagon in a long, long time!!

Onwards and downwards... am off to borrow some books from my friend who no longer needs them.... she has a shiny new Kindle!!

I have managed day 1 and am excited to have lost 2 lbs already and I drank 2 litres of water on top of tea/coffee. Am particularly pleased as I know that my medication for my Thyroid is too low which slows me down. Due to see dr before end of week so hopefully getting there. Would love to lose half a stone this week whilst following vlcd and have enough for another week but intend doing slimming world After this blitz as need to follow healthy eating and retrain my terrible food habits.

Im a kindle girl and reading all about dogs at the moment (doing a course) and also a book on positive thinking which is good. I do have a Wii but havent plugged it in :)
 
Got to get a kindle but soooo many books to read - my weakness!(and food!!!)
