What can I expect from the SW meetings?

1.5lbs is in the right direction, and let's not forget, you're not really a dieting 'newbie' as you've been following another diet before SW. Lots of people that get a big weight loss in their first week on SW have not been following any diet at all - so of course they'll have a big loss...

Despite my "fear" of green days

After successfully losing 3stone on SW, I 'fell off the wagon' and put it all back on - I then turned to Atkins and low carb (it was very much in the news at the time). Although it worked brilliantly, I could never stick to it (my favourite foods are pizza and naan bread  ) and I...

    Black radishes

Well, I washed and peeled them, cut them into chunks and roasted them with my HexB of roast spuds (skin on, done in frylight - not as nice as roasties but they'll do!). They needed cooking longer than the spuds but they were really nice - a bit like a turnip really. I'd definitely do them again!

    Water...

When I drink 2 litres a day I definitely lose weight easier, plus my energy levels are higher and my skin is better - I either drink plain fizzy water or flavoured no calorie fizzy water.

    Black radishes

Well, apparently: Black radishes belong to the Cruciferae family. We think that this ancient vegetable comes from Asia, although we know the Egyptian were making oil from radish seeds. It is a root vegetable the size of a turnip, with a black skin and white flesh. They have a...

    Black radishes

I picked up some HUUUUGE black radishes (about the size of large sweet potatoes) at the farmer's market. Has anyone ever tried them roasted? They must be Free Food, right?

    Christmas Foods

My Christmas Day will start with champagne and smoked salmon on toast as it always does. Lunch will be the usual turkey roast. I don't like Xmas pud so will make a trifle that will proba have a few sins in it. I'll try and make snacks that are SW friendly, but I'll definitely be flexi Syns...

    Green Days...

I'm thinking of having red days at the weekend, as I do love my Sunday roast, and we usually have a house full. I also love tuna and pilchards, so fish is always a good thing!

Tomorrow I am going to experiment!

Oohh great idea - I was going to do some and use the Moulinex, but I'll try the swivel peeler I have. I think you can buy those mandolin things fairly cheaply these days too.

    How have I done?

Those packet chilli mixes have so many sins in them - I had to wean myself off them when I did SW the first time around. Now I make chilli with quorn, tinned and fresh toms, onions, garlic, mushrooms and either chilli powder or fresh chillies - it tastes much better, has no sins on either day...

Quorn chilli - add loads of onions, mushrooms and pepper, as well as some dried chillies and serve with rice? Or add loads of veg and have with couscous?

    Green Days...

I did Atkins for a while and managed to persuade myself that I would never lose weight eating carbs. So when i came back to Slimming World I only did Red days. The problem is my other half is semi-vegetarian (he only eats fish) and so veggie dishes feature a lot in our house. I'm trying to get...

Tomorrow I am going to experiment!

I used to make crisps all the time from sweet potatoes, parsnips, carrots and turnips. I baked them until they were brown and then left in a warm oven to crisp up. Sometimes I put salt on them. They're very nice and got me through many a film, as my munchies of choice are crisps!

    Lemonkitten's food confessions ;)

So much for posting every day! Been mad busy at work, but stuck mainly to plan (apart from some extra Syns on booze at the weekend!) Only 2lbs off, but I'm happy with that - it's not as if I'm a complete newbie so I won't get that big 'first week' weight loss. I'm happy I lost anything!! Food...

Fantastic! I bet it really made your day - it's lovely when someone notices you've lost weight, but when it's someone that a) you see every day and b) doesn't normally notice, it's soooo much sweeter :)

I know that if you make fruit into a smoothie then you have to syn it, but is it the same with soup? I just cooked a huge bag of stewing vegetables, added garlic and chillies and a stock cube (which I'll Syn). Whizzed it up with the hand blender and am having it for lunch. Should i Syn it?

    Another newbie - hi everyone

Hi I'm new to this forum, but not to Slimming World, which I did very successfully up until last year when we moved to France. There are no classes where we live, so I'm going it alone, but I do subscribe to the magazine, as wel as still having a lot of the cookbooks and old magazines. I want...
