    CC lifesavers??

I use this stuff: Impact Whey Protein from Myprotein It's about 120 calories with water, or more with milk. It's very nice, especially in a coffee to create a 'latte' effect. :)

    quorn products

It's good for marinading too, with some metabolism-boosting chilli.

Yes, very much so. Terrible habits. It wasn't very nice to live with for a week.

    Weight loss = Bigger boobs??!?

It sounds weird, but my aunt went through this a few years ago. The weight moved. She lost fat, yes, but the stuff she kept redistributed into an hourglass shape she hadn't had since she was a teenager. I have no idea how it works, but it does seem to happen to some people. I'd love to know how...

    Treadmill or exercise bike?

Boyfriend started at 21st and he uses our exercise bike (which has magnetic resistance) and has since lost 3st - that's in just over 3 months. He spends about 30-50 minutes on it every day with the resistance whacked up high, going slow. I'd say resistance is the way to go.

    Drinking!

I'm a big gin-lover, too. Diet tonic all the way. Some people have chocolate, but I have gin. Did you go?

    700 cal dinner

A Sainsbury's bean burger or two with some iceberg lettuce and balsamic vinegar. I add pumpkin seeds for protein.

    CC lifesavers??

Diet whey shakes. Good protein and fibre. My nails are so strong as a result.

    Healthy Nutritional Snacks???

I seem to recall there being research into the 'sniff' reflex...apparently, if you sniff something that smells chocolatey, it satisfies the craving. Sweet lip balms work for me, but could potentially make you want to eat all the chocolate in the world. Risky?

Quorn is brilliant. I just curried some 'fake chicken', and it was marvelous.

Gender split & motivations for loss

I've written a dissertation on this within a historical/literary theme, but yes, women have centuries of conditioning that delicacy = goodness. Outer fragility = inner strength. You're worth more if you're what your society deems pretty. It's depressingly enduring. Also, Rammstein FTW.

I dont want my picture taken!

My weight has been all over the place over the years. Fat child, thinner child, fat teenager, seriously thin teenager... and never, ever have I liked photographs of myself. I'd like that to change, but I don't know how.

    Weird!

I can confirm that the weight has stayed off, plus another pound the following week. I'm putting it down to witchcraft.

Professor loses weight on snack-food diet

There was a woman on a BBC biology programme recently who'd lived on Monster Munch for years and years. Purely Monster Munch. She was slim, but her hair was falling out and her gums bled.

    LOW G.I DIET

I am! I have the little Collins Gem book. Once you get the hang of the basic rules, it's easy to follow. A friend of mine started it a couple of years ago, and has since lost a stone without 'dieting' as such. She says it's best to look at it as a lifestyle change and not a 'get slim quick' scheme.

You could be right, pinacalada. Fats are good for you - maybe I'd cut out too much. Why is this stuff never simple?

How Much Have You/Can You Loose In 2 Months?

There are a lot of studies on the effects of diet coke on weight loss - not all of it good. Yes, it's much, much better than regular fizzy drinks, but the sweeteners wreak havoc with the appetite and metabolism. It's worth looking into for the long-term.

Starting to get a little loose skin

It can be tightened without invasive surgery, as long as there isn't masses of it. Lasers can work. :)

Anybody else's mum try to 'fatten them up' if they think you're getting too thin?

Unfortunately, food meant love when I was growing up. :sigh: And if I refused it, it was a big deal. Hence years of severe eating disorders. Taking the food and binning it is sometimes the only thing to do.

    Protein Shakes

I use their diet whey (they used to call it 'whey slim') and love it. I have one for breakfast and one as a mid-afternoon snack. They mix very well in coffee - they make good fake lattes! I really feel they've impacted my muscles and appetite.

    Annorexic Tendancies

Speaking as a recovering anorexic (yes, on a weight-loss board) - get help while you can. It's a disease that never fully leaves you. I've been hospitalised and gone through the mental health services for years, and although I'm in the healthy weight bracket and fairly happy these days, the...

    Alcohol free drinks

Gin is my absolute nemesis. I could drink all the gin in existence. I've probably already downed half of it.

I would recommend putting it in your hold luggage - less likely to get problems that way.

    Weird!

I was dreading spending a week at my inlaws' house over Easter. My boyfriend's parents eat dreadfully, plus it's chocolate time and they get huffy if you don't eat what they throw at you. Boyfriend and I are both on low fat diets (he's on medical Orlistat), so we both had upset tummies and...

Baffled and demoralised - Citalopram and weight loss

Yeah, coming off them was not fun at all. Everything from electric shocks in my head to the floor wobbling at 4pm every day like clockwork. :jelous: But I was on them for so long that my body really depended on them. I'm feeling pretty great now, though! It's interesting how GPs differ. Mine...
