Good luck Stuart! I started a week ago, and have lost 3lb so far. I also used to do SW and hated the clappy meetings as well - they may work for some people but not me. There's been no clapping so far in the meetings - they've been more informative. My tip would be use the online tracker, be...

Eggs are great - the problem is with how you cook them. Cook eggs in loads of fat and the fat raises your cholesterol - not the eggs. Here's a great article from the British Heart Foundation; British Heart Foundation - Eggs and cholesterol

I've also given up chocolate for Lent. I did try the Pink and White marshmellow wafers and they are yummy but I ate the whole packet!!! :innocent0002: I've just tried the new HiFi Peanut bars and they are very sweet and yummy so I'm getting my fix from these now.

    Big body squad

I love watching diet programs (Biggest Loser final tomorrow I think) but I watched this once and found it too voyeuristic with no message. I also got cross with the lift man. 10k is a lot of spend, and I thought the exercise of walking up and down the stairs once a day might do him more good...

    Extra Easy Silly Question (maybe)

Umm.."slimming world is designed for people who have big appetites."...I think not. I didn't have a big appetite - my problem was I ate c**p food! SW teaches you how to eat healthly, increase your fruit and veg, and to exercise. I like your diary - it's similar to the sort of things I eat...

How do you maintain with slimming world?

No, nothing. I did get another letter from head office saying well done - be a consultant (again!). I got a brooch, a sticker and a certificate from the consultant. She said just allow myself 2 extra healthy extras a day. This wasn't enough for me as I still continued to lose weight. I've...

Experiences maintaining slightly lower target weights

Well done on your progress so far! Targets are a very personal thing. You are taller than me (who isn't!), but I don't see a problem with losing the weight if that's what you want to do (and it's within a healthy range). I usually sit at the bottom end of my target weight very happily...

    Should I call target?

Well done on the weight loss! If you're happy as you are (and you look great to me) call target! If you carry on losing weight then, as you say, you can amend it. fizzy drinks -teeth and gums

My dentist lectured my sister and myself about the perils of drinking too much diet coke as it does damage to the teeth. We're limited to one can a day now. Our dentist also said to drink it through a straw to minimise damage (as X Keely X advises) so that the fizz doesn't hit the front of...

A question about your target weight

A question about your target weight

It's true your target can be anything as long as it's not too low. Once on target you must stay + or - 3 pounds. You have one weeks grace period if you fall out of target to get back in again before starting paying. You can also re-negotiate your target - although I seem to recall it must...

    scan bran challenge

I do like scan bran but they do look like brown carpet tiles! I made the scan bran bread pudding which was nice. My preferred 'neat' option is with laughing cow light blue cheese triangles. I did read someone else liked them with lemon curd...might try that now. I daren't have nutella in the...

    Haven't quite started yet

Good luck on your journey! I'm also only five foot and I know every pound shows. I know what you mean about a top shop 10 - I aim for a M&S 10 - much easier!!! Baked potato's are a brilliant no-cook option. Just pop in the oven, leave for 1 hour and then serve with low fat cottage cheese...

    FIZZY DRINKS????

My dentist has warned both myself and my sister about drinking too much fizzy drinks. Apparently even the diet ones can hurt your teeth (the enamel). I've cut back to one can of diet coke a day, and my sister drinks diet coke though a straw. We were both gutted as we love diet coke! Thought I...

    Stickers as motivation

I love my stickers - it's a bit childish but I love putting them on my book. My only moan is our C seems to ignore the body magic ones even though we hand in our forms. One member in our group took matters into her own hand and during the weekly talk asked for them as she had achieved from...

    Which weight on scales? Day/night?

I belong to a group that weighs in on a Monday evening - it's not good!!! I have to really behave myself over the weekend otherwise the result would be bad! As it's in the evening as well I watch myself gain weight during the day. I still eat/drink during the day - some of the group go on a...

Who gets told 'you should stop now'?

I've already been told off by my mother for even attending SW - "You're slim enough already". My weight has been creeping up over a period of years and my BMI went over 25. I would rather tackle the issue now. I lost over 1/2 stone on my own but was having real problems with motiviation. I...

    Scan Bran

I think I must be weird but I love scan bran! I bought some from Group for the first time this week. I've topped it with Philly Light, however I've also read about someone using lemon curd as a topping. Just making a scan bran cake (like bread and butter pudding I'm led to believe). Hope I'm...

Working in an office and dieting!

It was a colleague's birthday this week and he brought in lots of lovely large cream cakes. I've got the biggest desk in the office so they all got put on there. I was sending emails out to everyone saying 'come and have a cake' then 'please come and have a cake'! The smell of them was pure...
