    Just living with the skin.

Hello! It's my first post for a long time! :) I have a lot to lose and I know I'll have loose skin but I was wondering, apart from the way it looks, is it difficult to live with a lot of extra skin? I guess washing and drying is a bit harder but otherwise, well to be blunt, can you just tuck it...

    Day 2 failure :(

Thanks both. Reading the CD pages now in more depth, I wonder if starting immediately on the 450 diet with no preparation was not the best idea. I've been reading that, especially if you have had a large carbs intake, as I did (do) then it can be too much to go straight to the lowest CD diet...

    Waiting to restart

Hello, I'm struggling with CD generally but was interested in aspartame. Isn't it the sweetener that is used in all the sweetened products? So all the shakes and the tomato soup? As a aspartame-phobe I was specially interested in the sweetener used. Cambridge Weight Plan...

    Day 2 failure :(

Well, day 1 SS yesterday was OK really. Had a nasty taste in my mouth and the feeling of having a 'furry'/dirty tongue. Maybe from not mixing the soups enough? And today ... had a portion of chips . Went to the beach with some friends and my resolve just disolved. Oddly I wasn't hungry...

    Ketosis

I happened to ask my adviser today and aspirins and paracetamol and she said they were fine but I suppose heavier ones might be different. It's my day one so I'm just learning.

    Todays the,day

Could I ask you guys about Ketosis? I'm on day one so hanging on and hoping it gets better (though watching The Great British Bakeoff and Come Dine With Me didn't help Doh! But about ketosis, do it's good effects (extra energy and not feeling hungry) last as long as you stay on the diet and...

    Loose Skin after Weight Loss

Nice reassuring posts. :) I've been worrying about that too as at 53 with about half of me to lose. Looking at people who have lost a lot of weight I think (unless they are young) people often retain a 'comfortably covered' look so rarely look skinny but just look healthy. To be honest...

    2012 mission: 11 stone hot body :)

Dear Princess Jader, I want to say to you some of the things I wish I had known/done when I was your age. I know how dull that sounds and I know maybe it won't make sense to you but do you mind if I say it anyway? - Being young has it's own beauty, you see your own faults but when you are older...

    SW ... or GI?

Oh advice please? I was all set to give SW another go - I've lost on it before but the books arrived and it looks so complicated nowadays and what I really want to do is not think so much about food! So is GI the best option for me I'm now wondering? I fancy really simple menus eg Weetabix _...

    The science behind

That's interesting PatchworkPuss. I also received the new SW books yesterday and have spent quite a long time working out which he /b and what extra easy ... I am certainly a 'funny age'! but it seems very complicated to me - I'm glad I have the original green book still from about 1993 with 2...

    Drawing a line and...

Sio, I think that's the beauty of SW over eg Atkins, that tomorrow is another day and well done at getting back on the horse! xx

    The science behind

Hello, not sure if this is the right place to ask this. I did the old SW diet years ago and lost a couple of stones. While I'm waiting for my new books, I've been wondering what the rational behind the SW diet is. At the time it struck me as mainly portion control, the free foods being things...

    Syn formula?

Thanks very much, it's a soft drink, not really mainstream here, called Aloe from a company called Tropical. I'm just a bit addicted to it so working out in advance what it's going to cost me! It's at least better than Red Bull my last fad:eek: Thanks for explaining it further.

Original Old Red and Green Syn-a-Day

Hi Eye6769, I just bought a set from ebay! Thanks for the advice. Hi Beegee, I'm just getting grips with how much info there is on this site. It's amazing! Thanks both.

    Syn formula?

Oh it's a calorie thing? I'm not actually an online member I have to admit. I just bought some new books on ebay as a member on another thread advised. I lost my job and so am economising and I'm hoping that writing on this site and reading Slimming Eats will be support enough. So far it's been...

    Syn formula?

Hello, this is probably a newbie question, but is there a formula to work out how many syns something has? I live in Holland so you can't get many of the same named foods here. But I noticed some people asking 'how many syns in ...' So I wondered if there was a formula? Soft drinks are one of...

Original Old Red and Green Syn-a-Day

Hello, a newby here, just planning my diet. I have an old Green Sin-a-Day book - I'm a lacto vegetarian so don't need the red one. I lost some weight many years ago using this book. I live in The Netherlands so would have to join online but just lost my job so don't really want to if I can avoid...

    Weight and mental health

Hello Squiggle, I've heard so often on television programmes and suchlike, that once a person had 'faced their issues' weightloss came easy. Well I think I am a fairly self analytical person and have thougt about it a lot but I can only find that my worst issue is - being too fat! I do think...

    Scared of losing weight

Hello, I hope it's not too late to reply. I'm a real newby Your post reminded me so much of my last diet. I wonder if in retrospect you had to go to the supermarket to get the change. I realised with myself that I would set up a whole, plausable chain of events just to put myself in a hard...
