monday morning at home weigh in

Well done everyone. I'm very late this week, just haven't found the time to check in. I didn't forget to weigh of course and I'm a 1/2 lb down this week. A bit disappointed as I stuck to plan as usual but I think it's probably because I was quite sedentary last week since I had a cold and...

The thing that's really anoying is that I remember the people making these comments are the same ones who used to comment about me having gained weight when I weighed this much on the way up the scales!

Well done everyone :) Pommette, you must be right about the carbs, so hopefully it will go as fast as it arrived! Luckily I don't suffer from carb bloat as I love 'em and do green days 99% of the time.

Why are you trying to lose weight?

I'm happy to say that I have now reduced my chances of this happening. I went to my GP last week for blood test results, after worrying tests back in January made me realise I was going down the same road. All my results are now at healthy levels, especially my cholesterol which had been heading...

Welcome BrendaB and good luck to everyone weighing in today :) I lost 2 1/2 lbs this week bringing my BMI under 30. This means I am now officially out of the 'obese' category and am simply classed as 'overweight'. Also went back to my GP last week for blood test results, after worrying tests...

Why are you trying to lose weight?

No. 1 reason is for health - after watching my nan suffer a series of strokes over the last 5 years that robbed her of her independance, her mind and finally her life last Christmas. That was my final wake up call. I realised that could be me in 20-30 years and I didn't want that for myself or...

3lbs off for me today - I'm chuffed after 2 weeks STS. Moppett - everything you said rang true with me. I write everything down too, like others have said it's easy to forget what you've had otherwise. I use these ones 20 Stayfresh Longer Bags in preserving bags at the home of creative kitchenware, Lakeland and yes they do work. They are great in the fridge but I wouldn't use them to take stuff to work. I would keep the lettuce separate with no dressing and mix it in when you are ready to...

I just used up the last of my first bag of homemade frozen SW chips. This is such a brilliant idea prepping a big batch up to the parboiled stage and then bulk freezing. They cook from frozen perfectly and I'm enjoying them more often because I don't have to allow the extra time to make them...

Your losses look pretty normal to me. It's common to lose more in the first week or 2, a lot of initial weight loss is stored water. It would be unusual to keep going at the same rate and may do you more harm than good - you don't want your body to start burning muscle for energy. I wouldn't...
