    Confessions of an Indecisive Dieter

Well done on the loss, you are doing great. Enjoy the wine & take away. Caution on the alcohol though...if most of your cals come from alcohol rather than food its stored straight away as fat on the stomach rather than used for energy as it has no nutritional value. Your body then uses lean body...

Well done on the VLCD, I lost pounds on Cambridge years ago, but never kept it off, and found it so much harder to lose the next time. Over 40yrs I don't think there is any diet I haven't tried LOL!!! I did the Original HPD diet in the 70's way before Atkins & Dukan, that worked too, but...

Congratulations on the weight loss &:birthday: !!!! Regarding Up Days, then probably, like me you will find that around 1700-1800cals will be plenty on your Up Days after the first few weeks. Sadly us 'older' ladies no longer have the muscle mass or activity levels to burn off 2000 cals! mind...

    newbie needing help please

Is this an Up day or a Down day? If its a Down Day you need to ideally try & get it below 500. I sincerely hope its not an Up day, because that is way way too low, especially if after a Down Day..you need an absolute minimum of 1200 cals after a DD just to prevent the loss of lean body tissue (...

The Ultimate Guide to JUDDD - Everything you need to know to succeed!!

A lot of people don't strictly do alternate days, we (I do this) have weekends 'off' with two UDays . Could JUDDD be my Xmas saviour?

Hi, from August I have done 3 DD's full 24-36hrs a week, Mon/Wed/Fri, Tues & Thurs tend to be full UD's and at the weekend I try to only have one Full UD & make the other around 1200 cals if I can. Since Xmas I have managed 1 true DD and 2 1200-1400 cal days. It looks like I put on 5lbs, could...

No I actually don't think this will be suitable for her! Quote: "Studies have shown that most healthy breastfeeding women maintain an abundant milk supply while taking in 1800-2200 (or more) calories per day. Consuming less than 1500-1800 calories per day (most women should stay at the high...

I'm back for a second go!

Welcome back. we all do it, slip that is, I've done it all my life..LOL, hoping this is the last time! I actually never have a problem with my DD's..its the Up days that cause me problems. I'm either eating too little or I go mad & eat far too much. Still got a whole year to work on getting it...

    Newbie to JUDDD

I personally count my calories on an UD, but thats personal preference as I like to know where I am so that if I have a good loss I can look at the calories. Its surprisingly easy to increase 1300-1500 cals to 2000. Just increase each meal a little, especially breakfast. You will find the DD's...

Could JUDDD be my Xmas saviour?

Yes I agree that until we can get New Year over & get one good week of alternate days in we won't really rid ourselves of the excesses of the last few days. Its damage limitation for me at the moment & just reminding myself that I actually like the discipline of a good DD!!!!

First DD today since day before Xmas. Sat will be an UD but will try & keep it sensible, then...

Louise-You are doing really well it sounds as though you are getting into the routine of UD DD really well. Maccalenny, I tasted some tinned rice pudding the other day when OH had some, OMG I have a sweet tooth but it really did taste un naturally sweet. If I have some it will have to be the...

I also find that its usually after I've had a 'carbs' blow out so convinced they are linked. Well done on the whoosh by the way. I...

Sorry about the WI Hann, but as Lou said it really is water and Glycogen storage thats to blame for the weight increase & not fat...its one of the down sides of daily weighing and you've just got to take it on the chin and move on. I'm still betting on that whoosh moment this week, so hang on in...

    Looking into JUDDD

Hi, JUDDD is very flexible.. it can be modified to fit most lifestyles. I can see no reason why you shouldn't have DD's & eat healthily on UD's it is after all what we all aspire to. You should however increase your intake a little on your UD;s so as to reduce the calorie deficit that you might...

Where do i sign?!! Im in!!

Well done on the weight loss Mumma, and yes exactly right, exercise is the key to keeping your body burning those calories...and with JUDDD we can get away with so much more than on other lifestyles. Enjoy your weekend

    Hann's IF Diary - 7 months and counting :)

Right attitude re the WI Hann, lets face it 0.8 of a lb is so little as to be written off as water retention..which as you are exercising regularly is going to happen whilst your muscles are healing. I'd like to make you any bet you like that this week will be a whoosh week with big...

    Two weeks in....

Well done, thats a great loss in your first couple of weeks. As you have identified its the DD's that are the key, get those right & you will be fine. Great hair Hann....and just keep in mind that weight loss as you already know is not linear, it comes off when it wants, how it wants and not when we expect it too...just keep the faith and doing what you do...remember we are not obsessing about food now, so we must not replace that by obsessing...

    quick question

Welcome, give it a go, you've nothing to lose but weight, and lots to gain, including us lot as supporters!!! I admit to having the odd glass of cider & a few chocolates on my UD's, after all if I've got the spare calories why not!!:party0016:Cheers
  209. JillyCornwall

    judd newbie

We've all done it, but remember that JUDDD is pretty forgiving. Can I suggest you don;t make it too hard for yourself by trying to do 2 DD's over the weekend? Why not just aim for one & plan it well so that you get it right..then you will be set up to have a good week knowing you can do it.

    Light bulb moment

This is me too, I was put on a calorie controlled diet for medical reasons at 9 1/2 yrs old until 12 yrs old. 212. JillyCornwall

    Thinking if joining you!

Not sure what a LT diet is, however I do know that JUDDD is a lifestyle & not a quick fix diet. You won't lose super quick on it after the first couple of weeks, but you can lose steadily & set yourself up to keep it off rather than losing it fast, getting diet jaded & putting it all back...

I can relate to the sugar & caffeine to get you through...when I'm working about 50% of my time is in the car..and a bag of sweets or crisps was always in reach..don't even miss them now. 500 Calories First down day

One of the things you learn very quickly on this lifestyle is the difference between genuine hunger & food craving. After a few DD's you will find that you actually fancy less & less on your UD's, its something to do with how fasting regulates your insulin

    JUDDD disaster

I'm afraid you are going to have to be a bit more patient on JUDDD. The same simple science of weight loss applies with JUDDD as with most if not all other days. 1lb of fat contains 3,500 calories which need to be 'burnt' to lose on the scales. As you;ve been on holiday and put weight on...

0.4 is pretty much spot on for the calories you have eaten. I think you can eat what you want when you have lots to lose, but not when you have less.
