2 shakes and a meal on SS?

I am new to CD, this is only my 5th day and I've lasted well, despite the OH eating a huge chinese in front of me and my friend eating mini eggs at the cinema!! i'm in ketosis and not feeling hungry but wishing I could have some food! i've decided to try the bars early as i think a combo of certain shakes and bars will help my willpower.

i was discussing the CD with my mum who is following the diet with me and we were wondering if anyone had tried to substitute a shake for a low cal meal on SS instead of doing the SS+ and having 3 shakes plus a low cal meal so it would just be 2 shakes/bars/soups and a meal. would this have the same effect as regular SS or is it risky to not follow the steps as prescribed? Thanks :)

I think the main issue would be ensuring you had the right amounts of vitamins/minerals etc. I think it would be quite hard to get a third of your RDAs into one very small meal. Can I ask why SS+ doesn't appeal? If it's because the meal is so small - if it is, why not try 810, which I believe means you can have a little more...

hey phoenix, it's not that the SS+ doesnt appeal, in fact it prob appeals more than doing the 2 shakes and the meal! it's just the fact that i'm thinking more in terms of weight loss, I wondered whether weight loss slows significantly when introducing a meal on top of your 3 shakes if my reasoning makes sense! my mum did lighterlife last october through to January and amazingly stuck to it for 12 weeks without adding a meal on! i'm only on day 5 and really looking forward to introducing a small meal or even just the bars, but I would like to stick to just SS for a month before I bring in a meal so i thought that may be another option instead of going to full SS+ or 810 too early!

It works out to be a half lb difference a month between ss and ss+ x

I've done this before.

I used to have a shake for breakfast, shake for lunch, and chicken & salad for dinner.. the first week i lost 7lb, not as bigger weight loss as SS but still very good! I think its step 2 and the 810 plan..

Yes, as the others have said you MUST have your 3 cambrodge products, that's all your nutritional requirements for the day to keep you healthy.

On 810 u still have 3 cambridge products :)

Oh okay, not sure what plan i used to do in 2008, but i had 2 shakes followed by an evening meal :)

ok thanks for your posts all! i'll give ss a go for a month then do the ss+ with all 3 shakes and a meal. really looking forward to be able to have some food, i've picked the worst month to start as I'm out every wkend for the next 3 saturdays! water only of course!
